1. Counselling to ensure parents are fully informed about the treatment and progress of their child and that they have a good understanding of the disability treatment process.
2. Helping the parents understand their huge contribution into the success of the treatment.
3. Provide emotional support to parents attending clinic. Many mothers of children with clubfoot or other kind of disability suffer social and family separation and community stigmatization.
4. When parents come to the clinic first time, prepare medical record with all the demographical information and at least two contact details and the postal address for effective follow up.
5. Keeping good and up to date record of clinic materials, FAB, etc. in stock.
6. Ensuring children file in the clinic are updated and Pirani scoring is regularly done by the doctors.
7. Maintain and update counsellor's diary on every clinic day for tracking every child's treatment progress.
8. On subsequent visits, check the child's feet and spend time with the parents asking if they face any problem with the plaster or brace.
9. Provide special counselling to parents having children with other problems besides clubfoot and different kind of disability.
10. Help parents understand how to handle casts and teach parents to open casts in the clinic.
