The primary role of the Director Global procurement operations is to manage entire source to pay functions in the shared services environment.
Manage and lead Sourcing projects, Buyers purchase order operations, vendor onboarding, market intelligence, contract management, accounts payable for multiple categories as per MetLife procurement policy
Lead and deliver service value and generate savings, avoid cost increase for the annual spend within each category.
Be well versed with hands on experience in managing large and complex purchases across commodities like IT, Facilities, Professional Services etc.
Author contracts covering commercial and risk exposure in such purchases.
Strong negotiation skills for commercials, service delivery and liaise with Contracts group to close legal negotiations.
Meet and exceed the savings target, supplier performance management each year as per SLA.
Strong reporting for the project status, value generation to stateside leadership and GOSC Management.
Experience in developing and negotiating multi-million dollar contracts
Experience in supplier management and contract compliance & administration
Work with the internal customers to ensure their business requirements are driven using effective sourcing strategies while working with stake holders, internal departments and US suppliers.
Utilize US market analysis to identify industry best practices, and incorporate them into the sourcing strategy, best in class procurement operations, process efficiency.
Implement programs to shift demand to new suppliers and/or new processes.
Identify sourcing opportunities through use of reporting tools and leveraging internal customer relationships.
Coordinate vendor interface for MetLife before, during, and after competitive bidding.
Maintain vendor relationships and stay abreast of market trends, including identifying opportunities, issues, market conditions and economic indicators for assigned commodities or vendors
Create opportunities for minority and women-owned business enterprises in assigned sourcing events.
Any other essential function that may occur from time to time as directed by the Supervisor.
Education, Technical Skills & Other Critical RequirementEducationBachelors degree (Any Stream) with a minimum of 15 years of education.Supply Chain diploma/certifications will be preferred (CPSM, SPSM, CIPS, Material Management, MBA in supply chain)Experience(In Years)Overall 15-18 years with 12-14 in Global procurement operations preferable in shared services environment with focus on service delivery and adherence to defined SLA and policy compliance.Technical Skills
Preferred certifications like CPSM, SPSM, CIPM or any other supply chain certifications
Experience of managing entire cycle of source to pay functions including Accounts Payable
Good knowledge of Ariba / 12s1 / 12s2
Knowledge of the U.S. marketplace for key commodities (i.e. IT related products and services, Professional Services, Facilities, Marketing, Print etc.)
Negotiation Skills (Strategy and Implementation)
Experience in designing and leading complex RFx activities (RFP, RFQ, RFI) across all categories of Indirect Spend Management.
Experience in services procurement is must.
Exposure or experience in Lean Six sigma methodologies
Good working knowledge of MS office Suite ( Word, Excel (advanced skills) and PowerPoint.)
Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of Agile methodology of PM , MS Azure would be an advantage but not a definite requirement
