Be part of a team that is responsible for building a global Offers platform that performs at scale serving millions of customers. The Offers team is a collaborative organization and this role will interface with many teams across the globe to serve our customers.
Mastercard Offers delivers insight-driven targeted and un-targeted offers to brands and consumers around the globe, creating unparalleled preference and engagement that is a key contributor to Mastercard\xe2\x80\x99s Data & Services organizational growth and success. The Offers product aggregates offers from multiple sources and uses a cardholder\xe2\x80\x99s past spend and transaction history to rank and determine the most relevant offers for cardholders. As the Director of Software Engineering, you will build the features and capabilities that help programs connect cardholders to merchant brands via our partner publishing channels. Specifically, in this role you will be responsible for leading the development teams in Pune to deliver innovative, cost effective and high-quality solutions that meet business needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about the technology and has a proven record of delivering large scale initiatives.Role:
The Director, Software Engineering will lead a team of high performing individuals representing different functional development roles with all the necessary skills to create enterprise capabilities for Offers. This role is responsible for the analysis, design, development, and delivery of software solutions. Provides technical leadership to the Pune team to deliver the right technical solution, meeting the needs of the business and operational teams. The role includes:

• Collaborate with the Product team on creating innovative solutions and prioritization of the implementation.
• Drive the architectural design, including dependent services, service interactions, and policies
• Responsible for integration of vendor-provided systems and custom-built products with existing components
• Ownership of your team\xe2\x80\x99s software and are deep in the maintenance characteristics, runtime properties and dependencies
• Manage cost allocation and drive optimization while delivering on business needs
• Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a global environment
• Hold people and teams accountable and effectively delegate responsibilities down to the team
• Recruit, hire and retain diverse talent

All About You:

• Has experience in leading and coaching global teams to perform software planning and estimation for large scale complex programs; has skills to drive trade-off discussions to set the right development capacity based on value drivers
• Understands software development productivity metrics and helps teams to remove blockers and continuously improve code velocity and quality
• Excellent written and oral communications, including communicating technical complexities in a simple to understand manner
• Ability to operate effectively independently and in ambiguous situations
• Competent career coach that can manage a cross-disciplinary technical staff
• Expertise in micro-services, event driven architecture
• Expertise in Web applications (Springboot Angular, Java, PCF), Web Services (REST/OAuth), and Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HBase)
