Summary :This position is crucial for the success of the business in India. As Director Sales Engineering, this position must build up a local team of Sales Engineers, grow and develop the team, and push business success together with the India Sales and Account Management team. This position and team bring local perspective and input to the global Sales Engineering organization. Director Sales Engineering will help to strengthen global cooperation and help optimize the global SE org. He/She will support Sales, Account Management, Product Management also in Business Development and strategic customer and partner interactions

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support account managers and sales engineers with consistently providing strong and compelling offers to customers in time
  • Successfully close required technical RFI/RFQpaperwork for winning business deals in India
  • Work with Sales Engineering & Sales Mgt and other stakeholders on removing any obstacles for timely and competitive RFQ/RFI responses
  • Help coordinate global RFQ/RFI responses among different regions, positioning Cerence in line with the strategy
  • Work directly with account managers & sales engineers penetrating key accounts, understanding customer business needs and value drivers
  • Work with Product Management, Marketing and Innovation Management on market positioning of Cerence, and position Cerence innovations, products, solutions, and services accordingly
  • l Support product management in advancing the Cerence product roadmap
  • Identify training needs and work with stakeholders on implementation of effective trainings for the SE team, including global coordination
  • Identify issues with the existing pre-sales processes and work with the corresponding stakeholders on improvements and solutions
  • Identify goals and objectives for the team and the individual team members, and coach them to succeed
Additional
  • Education: Relevant academic background (e.g. Information Technology, Computer Sciences, or Computer
  • Linguistics), preferably with a focus on speech or audio processing, HMI or AI technologies
  • Minimum years of work experience: 12+ Years( Please note this role can be downgraded basis candidate experience and expertise as we looking to hire at various levels)
Required skills:
  • Extensive customer-facing experience/strong customer focus
  • Beyond native-like skills of a language spoken in India (e.g.Hindi), high proficiency in oral and written communication/presentation skills in English
  • Strong team-player and networker
  • Deep familiarity with the automotive digitalization (digital cockpit) and automotive AI applications
  • Background in the Automotive Infotainment space, Background in Automotive software processes
  • Proven leadership record, Willingness to travel (25%)
Preferred skills: Strong background in automotive HMI solutions, Solution and platform selling, Software/Platform as a service
