Job Description


Job Responsibilities As the Director of Public Relations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the public relations strategy, promoting the hotel-s brand image, and maintaining positive relationships with the media and key stakeholders. Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive public relations strategy to enhance the reputation and visibility of The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai locally, nationally, and internationally. Build and maintain strong relationships with local, national, and international media outlets, journalists, and influencers, serving as the main point of contact for media inquiries and managing media relations. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective public relations campaigns, press releases, and media kits that align with the hotel-s brand positioning and key messaging. Proactively seek out and secure media opportunities, including interviews, features, and editorials, to generate positive publicity and increase media coverage for the hotel. Monitor media coverage and industry trends, keeping abreast of relevant news and identifying opportunities to leverage media relationships for strategic positioning and crisis management. Organize and manage press conferences, media events, and familiarization tours to showcase the hotel-s offerings and enhance media engagement. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry associations, and community leaders, to strengthen the hotel-s presence and influence in the local community. Collaborate with internal departments, including marketing, sales, and operations, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment of public relations efforts with overall business objectives. Prepare and manage the public relations budget, monitoring expenses and ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources. Uphold high standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity, representing The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai with the utmost professionalism and demonstrating a commitment to Taj Group-s core values. Job Requirements Proven experience in public relations, communications, or a related field, preferably in the hospitality or luxury sector, with a strong track record of successful media relations and public relations campaigns. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and narratives for diverse audiences. In-depth understanding of media landscape and trends, with established relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets. Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and execute innovative public relations initiatives that drive brand awareness and reputation. Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings, as required in the hospitality industry. Proficiency in English (both written and spoken), with additional language skills considered a plus. Familiarity with Taj Group standards and procedures. Bachelor-s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is advantageous.
