Serving as the lead art director and visual storyteller, you will work with key stakeholders across the University and be responsible for elevating the University of Niagara Falls Canada brand across various touchpoints.You will direct a team of creative professionals in graphic design, web design, video and photography resulting in campaigns that resonate with different audiences. This position will align and drive the digital-first, innovative vision for the University, and translating it into the best-in-class creative assets from conception to launch.

  • Create, lead and oversee the design strategy for Creative Services including directing the design team and overseeing the University\'s visual identity.
  • Lead creative brainstorming sessions to support the brand positioning and strategy to elevate the University\'s brand with innovative and compelling design assets.
  • Oversee design and production of institutional projects, including the University\'s magazine, commencement and convocation programs, directories, campus branding and signature events.
  • Plan and design projects from concept to delivery and oversee the creation of print and digital assets, that includes out-of-home campaigns, advertisements, website, microsite, landing pages, emails and videos.
  • Collaborate with recruiters and other stakeholders to ensure designs reflect positively the University\'s branding and values.
  • Manage workflow, priorities and art direct creative projects and campaigns including overseeing photo and video shoots.
  • Direct and oversee a team of creative professionals for graphic design, website, digital, photography and video.
  • Lead, create and execute innovative, creative concepts for marketing projects and campaigns.
  • Lead, mentor and inspire the design team, video & content team to foster a creative work environment and professional development.
  • Stay current with the latest industry, style and creative trends.
RequirementsTo be successful in the Director of Creative Services position, the individual must possess:
  • University degree or equivalent in art, fine arts, graphic design or another design-related field
  • At least 7-10 years of progressive experience in creative services preferably in a higher educational setting.
  • Demonstrated track record of success at a leadership or managerial level focusing on delivering high impact, creative design services across multiple touchpoints and channels.
  • Must be self-directed and self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple deadline-driven tasks cross different time zones.
  • Experience as a creative leader on branding and marketing.
  • Created and led award-winning integrated marketing campaigns, web design, branding and other design campaigns.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of AODA and WCAG legislations for website projects.
  • Ability to create storyboards or translate ideas to the creative team,
  • Keen awareness of current trends in advertising, website, print/digital design.
  • Extensive knowledge of design software such as Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop, etc
  • Familiarity with web design, video production and photography are an asset.
  • Outstanding leadership skills to train, guide, and mentor a team of creative professionals.
