Role Context
Guidance is from the Securities services Head of Operations and Functional Head of Fund Administration Operations, the role will require incumbent to operate in autonomous way to drive agreement across multiple countries with authority to execute in order to deliver against strategic goals. The role will require extensive operational management expertise, through a complex environment and will require ability to navigate effectively through multiple stakeholders to achieve optimal solutions.
The role will require incumbent to effectively develop and maintain network of key stakeholders across Securities services business and be required to work cooperatively across local, regional and global functions, to manage through conflicting priorities.
Management of Risk
Continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructures, and the impact of new technology.
Awareness of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
Observation of Internal Controls
Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
Ensure compliance with GSM, FIM and BIMs
Requirements
University degree level, or equivalent practical experience / maturity. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations commensurate with the position.
Candidate will have extensive working experience in the securities industry, to include:
Knowledge of clients and products across range of securities services
Management position with exposure to business partners across multiple geographical locations
Management position with exposure to remuneration, performance management, team building and staff development.
Fund Administration, focusing on back and/or middle office is preferred.
Strong presentation skills, ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively, both oral and written
Multi-cultural background or experience, ability to work across broad range of cultures in support of HSBC Group values and objectives.
Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail
Solid planning and organisational skills, with a proven ability to prioritise competing demands and communicate this effectively.
Proven ability to execute and deliver change, within an operational context.
Solution orientated, high energy characteristics necessary to support Securities services business.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain global and regional relationships at all business levels.
Strong collaborative management skills with the various stakeholders
Detailed knowledge of global market infrastructure.
