Job Description


About the role:We are looking for a suitable candidate to join as Director- Finance, Operations & Grant Management. The role is meant for a person with 20+ years of relevant work experience.Responsibilities:Finance & Accounts:

  • Budgeting, Cash flows, and investments: timely preparation and approvals.
  • Accounts and Financial Statements: timely preparation and finalization.
  • Audits: statutory and Internal: ensuring that there are no major observations and develop mitigation plan where necessary.
  • Payroll: supervision for accuracy and timely disbursal
Compliance:
  • Taxation, FCRA, Legal: ensuring timely preparations and legal compliance.
  • Board and Secretarial: managing Board meetings and documentation. Ensuring secretarial work is timely completed.
Grant Management:
  • Portfolio Selection and due diligence: ensuring alignment with CHATF\'s objectives & charitable intent and legal compliance.
  • Portfolio: Monitoring and Evaluation: ensure timely execution of projects and appropriate documentation.
  • Ensuring that portfolio agreements are comprehensive and are drawn in appropriate format.
Donor Management:
  • Tata Trusts Grants: maintaining relationship with the TT Grant team and leadership.
  • Ensuring timely submission of reports/UCs, seeking necessary approvals such as NCE and Reallocation.
  • Other Donors: ensuring that the donor Agreements are comprehensive and legally compliant.
  • Supporting Partnership team with the required financial reporting to the donors.
Admin:
  • Supervision of Office Administration, Travel and IT for due execution
Procurement & Vendor Management: to ensure financial propriety and optimal utilisation of resources. * HR: Supervision of HR function: to ensure timely execution.
  • Learning & Development: work out mechanisms to provide appropriate facilities for staff that would add value to their work.
  • HR Policies: to ensure that the policies are focussed on building a good team and good work culture and to ensure implementation.
Cross-functional support:
  • Operational - Coordination with Portfolio Team for:
a) Development and selection of innovations for funding support
b) Facilitating timely execution of projects.
c) Help resolve issues with the portfolio companies. * Collaborate with the Partnership team for curating proposals. Establishing internal systems to satisfy the requirement of the partnership arrangement and relevant reporting.
  • Execution of NDAs, MOUs/agreements with Partnership organizations
  • Strategic - Collaborate in preparation of CHATF\'s AWP and Budgets
  • Setting and implementation of organization policies, and SOPs: with the aim to develop a focused and collaborative team that will deliver the objectives of CHATF.
  • Participate in IHF vision, mission & strategy development.
Required Experience
  • 20+ years of relevant experience working in an impact investment fund, social sector or grant organization, start-up, or social enterprise.
  • Experience in accounting functions is essential.
  • Experience in a not-for-profit organization is not essential but will be preferred.
  • Graduate/postgraduate with a finance and accounting background.
Preferred Skills:
  • Project execution and project management.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Tally.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Expertise in stakeholder management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Logical thinker, ability to connect the dots.
  • Comfortable working in situations with tight timelines or dealing with ad-hoc requests.
