Join us today and experience Life at Visa.The CEMEA Credit & Settlement Risk (CSR) team is responsible for proactively assessing and mitigating credit & settlement risks faced by Visa CEMEA, an integral part of one of the world\'s largest payment networks. Predominantly, the team manages settlement risks related to corporates and financial institutions across a vast portfolio, requiring risk-based prioritization and an understanding of balancing risks against rewards. An opportunity exists to join this highly respected team, which provides subject matter expertise across the Visa CEMEA organization and is part of a global CSR infrastructure.This role necessitates expertise in credit analysis for corporates and/or financial institutions, including a thorough understanding of credit rating models, collateral management, and big data analytics. A crucial aspect of the role is supporting the CSR function as needed, managing difficult conversations, including escalations, all while adhering to the Global CSR framework and procedures. In addition, you will support the Head of CEMEA CSR with ongoing projects, representing CSR as needed.The role requires maintaining a strong relationship with Global and regional Business Development Executives, Country Managers, and other global regional CSR teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of credit and settlement risk, and the ability to make strategic decisions based on complex financial data.Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify credit risks and provide recommendations to mitigate settlement risks.
  • Manage the control environment in accordance with risk appetite and specific client conditions.
  • Support the CSR team in managing the REACT system (Risk Exposure & Authorizations Controlling Tool), a credit risk management system that monitors authorizations and curbs/stops transactions when risk thresholds are reached for specific clients and group of BINs.
  • Oversee collateral management, ensuring that clients, as set out in the Global CSR framework and controls, have appropriate collateral in place to mitigate potential losses.
  • Proactively identify potential risks or issues related to collateral. Work closely with custodian banks, the global team, Compliance, and Legal teams to analyze and mitigate these risks.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of process improvements and system enhancements, including driving efficiency in the collateral management process. Develop and promote alternative forms of collateral.
  • Perform credit analysis and industry research of new and existing clients to ensure proper risk assessments.
  • Readiness to respond after-hours, weekends and holidays to major risk matters.
  • Lead and/or support the CSR team on various projects and processes (e.g., annual review process, incentive deal process, etc.) as required.
  • Develop and enhance a data analytic approach to credit & settlement risk utilizing VISA systems and tools with the aim of improving processes, increasing effectiveness, and providing better insights for better risk management decisions.
  • Support regulatory and internal audit requirements.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and Global Credit Settlement Risk.
  • Manage a team of analysts, promoting a culture of high-performance and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.QualificationsThe successful candidate should be both a self-starter and a quick learner, able to work with minimal guidance and will have:
-A master\'s degree in economics, finance, accounting, or a related field,
accompanied by at least 15 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work
experience in the job offered or similar roles.
-At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in analyzing corporate counterparty
credit, sovereigns, and financial institutions.
-An excellent understanding of a credit framework and controls environment,
including practical application within a financial or payment institution.
-Knowledge, understanding and experience of risk management practices in
financial services.
-A comprehensive understanding of various forms of collateral, including cash,
standby letters of credit (SBLCs), and guarantees.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a keen attention to
detail and the ability to synthesize information to make clear, concise
conclusions.
-Proactive and effective communication abilities, with strong interpersonal
skills.
-The capability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
-The courage to do the right thing, instilling confidence in the team, and
demonstrating self-assurance.
