Responsibilities

• As a leader of a new Business Systems team focused on data in Bangalore, you will be challenged to build and lead a team of developers, administrators, and engineers focused on data initiatives within our internal systems (notably Salesforce and NetSuite)
• As the first hire, you\'re not afraid to dive into our code and systems, and get your hands dirty to drive business value as we build out the team
• Hire, coach, mentor and engineering leads and other technical staff
• You will work closely with Leadership counterparts in Business Systems, Product, Data and Enterprise Architecture teams to deliver on Toast\'s ambitious roadmap plans
• Ensuring alignment between team leads, clearly setting expectations, and coordinating/ blocking-and-tackling activities, including clearing of hurdles/barriers
• Define team objectives and requirements, creating high level roadmaps, preparing benefits realization plans, validate priority and alignment to strategic objectives
• Estimate and distribute the necessary resources to achieve strategic goals
• Demonstrate superior decision and coordination skills when faced with conflicting or ambiguous inputs
• Provide leadership and handle all aspects of team management, including the development of employees
• Create an inclusive environment of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
• Understand complexity of regulatory environment and ensures compliance

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelors in CS, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent technical background
• 10+ years of managing teams in the capacity of an Engineering Manager
• Proven track record of building and leading global teams
• Experience with large business transformation projects such as full life-cycle implementations of Salesforce, Netsuite or other Finance and ERP Applications.
• Knowledge of software engineering standards & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Experience in Agile/SCRUM enterprise-scale software development
• Experience building scalable infrastructure software or distributed systems
• Experience driving initiatives focused on data - ETL pipelines, data hygiene and governance, and moving data efficiently and scalably
• Strong communicator and consensus builder
• Passionate about scaling teams and growing individuals in their careers
