Job Title Director - Applications Transformation & Resiliency
Summary of the role:
Amadeus believes in maintaining a consistent, efficient, and smooth development experience for its product development community. This is possible through dedicated effort from an organization level transversal team, which is consistently in pursuit of perfection and latest solutions in the space of Test platform/systems, Resiliency & Lifecycle management, and development frameworks. Amadeus is on lookout of for a dynamic, creative leader to manage such a team in its Bengaluru office.
The person in this role would mainly be managing the strategy, delivery, and transformation of the Test System (XTC) Department within TPE division in Bangalore - focused on growing high performing result-oriented engineering Services teams. Along with other sites, in XTC, we aim to facilitate the entire engineering and customer community with the highly available, stable and usable test systems at all time and every time. We have a strong Customer focus, and our portfolio includes Operational and Functional support, Governance, Evolution and Customer care, Test Data & Configuration Management and Non-Functional and End-to-End platform test/validation.
Main Responsibilities:
Manage the development of test systems and platforms which enable testing for application maintenance and system enhancements. Ensure the availability of a stable test system or platform for quality assurance. Monitor and troubleshoot as required.
Perform analysis, discovery, and inclusion of emerging software testing industry standards and tools to provide for continuous improvement. Define and Implement Quality Assurance practices & procedures, anticipate program release problems and takes corrective action, resolve to enable smoother delivery. Directs the approach for test coverage and the strategy for the appropriate test levels needed, including establishment of functional acceptance criteria.
Responsible for Platform and test Systems test & training data management Strategy -directs the planning and execution of efforts to ensure the customer (internal and external) requirements of high volume of data generation/injection are met as per the requirements.
Extend Performance Testing services to customers and establish metrics to benchmark product quality against non-functional and functional requirements and also to benchmark the customers (internal and external customers) expectations.
Responsible for providing and ensuring availability of test systems/ platforms for supporting continuous product / solutions development, testing, integration and deployment across the organization.
Maintain and enhance the unique state of the art Mobile Device Cloud global solutions offered from Bangalore to global consumers of Amadeus employee base.
Provide continuous support; Monitor and track report of test systems to ensure smooth running of the development life cycle
Escalation management and manage timely fixing of issues by the team
Provide strong leadership and manage multiple work streams in a division.
Plan and execution of strategy and vision of the division and articulate the same to internal and external customers
Build motivated and professional teams.
Direct the team towards quality and timely delivery, incremental innovation.
Flair for automation of activities. Energetic with expertise to lead technical innovations
Set goals for the teams and pursue the same
Provide required communication to stakeholders
Coach / Mentor team managers for higher responsibility
Participate in organizational and unit level initiatives
Manage Escalations
Skills and Knowledge - Technical/ Functional and Managerial
Expertise in Test platform/systems & Lifecycle management and creating/supporting development frameworks for the product development community would be desired.
Exposure on deployment/solution development for Continuous Integration and deployment
Should have managed large teams with a combination of support, service, monitoring and tool/application development
Good understanding of various stages of SDLC/PDLC with Waterfall and Agile development methodologies
Exposure to operations on platform management (both on premise and in cloud) would be added advantage
Experience working with diversified and multi-cultural teams across the globe
Experience of managing escalations and working with transversal teams
Well versed with underlying technologies and solutions available in the market related to Test platform/systems & Lifecycle management and development frameworks
Ability to manage and track resource and Budget management.
Ability to engage and mentor team members
Strong people management experience. Role demands managing a team of ~60 people with ~5 direct reports.
Strong stakeholder management experience. The job demands working with European stakeholders.
Education and Years of Experience
Minimum of 15 years of overall experience with 8+ years in development operations space.
Minimum of 8+ years of overall management experience, with delivery management experience for minimum 5 years.
BE/B Tech/ME / M Tech from reputed institutes.
Any Travel domain experience is a plus.
