The role is within Wealth Management in the Alternative Investments Business supporting products such as hedge funds, digital assets, private equity, private credit and private real estate. Morgan Stanley has one of the largest alternative investments platforms in the industry and it is one of the fastest growing segments of the firm. The team is responsible for processing alternative investments position valuations and fund activity in client accounts, as well as supporting the offerings on WM Alternative platform post-launch. This role will oversee a team of analysts which will review and process fund activity and position valuation information that is delivered to the firm from hundreds of third-party asset managers and fund administrators. This information provided by the funds is delivered in various formats and must be interpreted to ensure that is processed correctly in client accounts. Additionally, this role will also oversee individuals who are involved in all post-launch activities, including but not limited to: supporting the maintenance of products and platforms, working closely with control partners on various technology and strategic projects, and performing a number of oversight functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree
• Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant finance industry experience
• Prior operational and/or alternative investments experience is a plus
• Prior experience managing a team and providing oversight of day-to-day functions
• Ability to provide timely updates and presentations to key stakeholders within the organization
• Aid in developing solutions and enhancements that drive efficiencies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a particular strength in Microsoft Excel is required
• Ability to ensure process consistency and adherence to all procedural guidelines set forth for a process
• Ability to take direction and work independently, as well as in a team environment
• Firm understanding of the importance of accuracy in quality of work/downstream impacts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Efficient time management skills / ability to prioritize competing urgent tasks that team is involved with
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
