Overview1. BIW Dimensional Feasibility & Maturation2. Dimensional Systems Integration (DSI)Responsibilities1. BIW Dimensional Feasibility & MaturationKey Accountabilities and Responsibilities: * Conduct Clay A Surface Appraisal assessments at each Design surface release

  • Complete a full Dimensional Feasibility Assessment of the latest product design at each geometry freeze. This is to include but not exclusive to Locators, Design Slip, Design rules and GD&T.
  • Document all identified product issues into JIRA stories
  • Engage with key stakeholders to find resolution to issues
  • Conduct internal/external benchmarking to gather evidence of issues or to identify potential design solutions
  • Support relevant Agile squad, attending cadence of reviews; sprint planning sessions, daily start-up\xe2\x80\x99s, showcases and retrospectives. Drive for robust closure of all raised issues in a timely manner in readiness for next vehicle freeze. Block stories and escalate where appropriate
  • Document single panel and assembly locators in Catia V6, aligning these to the Platform strategy, gauging generics and Bill of Process. Update locators in readiness for each geometry freeze
  • Create and maintain Biased and Critical Tolerance brochures. Ensuring these are aligned to the Platform strategy, and available for each stage of part sourcing
  • Support Supplier reviews to ensure dimensional requirements are understood and considered
  • Review Lessons Learnt (PR AIMs, IQM, Plant High Hurt issues) and conduct risk assessment
  • Support with Bill of Process development, ensuring any non-compliances are identified
  • Support with new technology risk mitigation activities/trials
  • Conduct analysis of carryover content from existing car-lines, arranging for part measurement if required
  • Support DVA team with Model development, ensuring it is a fair reflection of process
  • Attend Tooling Design Reviews. Ensure standards have been applied, any concerns are raised and that any locator position changes are made
  • Attend NEPT meetings or alternative to influence Bill of Process / Line Layout for Dimensional requirements
  • Support FIS events for early product assessment
  • Support core team activities with Product and Process Standardisation
2. Dimensional Systems Integration (DSI)Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: * Conduct Clay A Surface Appraisal assessments at each Design surface release
  • Complete a full Dimensional Feasibility Assessment of the latest product design at each geometry freeze. This is to include but not exclusive to Locators, Design Slip, Design rules and GD&T.
  • Create and maintain DSI sketchbooks to document all system requirements for each commodity within a system. Details including but not limited to Location strategies, Tolerance agreements, DVA analysis, BIW requirements and any lessons learned.
  • Run DSI cross functional meetings to find resolution to issues. Strong stake holder management required.
  • Support Supplier reviews to ensure dimensional requirements are understood and considered.
  • Support DVA team with Model development, ensuring it is a fair reflection of process. Request and complete all system feasibility and CDVR as per gateway requirements. Cascade results to the cross-functional teams (PE, GME, Plant and Quality) Review.
  • Lessons Learnt (PR AIMs, IQM, Plant High Hurt issues) and conduct risk assessment.
  • Lead and support Optical Quality process for resolution of CDVR and crafted quality issues.
  • DSI Parts/BIW GD&T assessed, and snags created at each programme gateway.
  • Support, measurement plans creation, validation and reporting methods for, How Square Is the Box and Pitches for BIW system measurement plans.
  • DSI Parts/BIW GD&T aligned with SCSS documents. Support SCSS process for dimensional content for system content
  • Support T&F teams with Bill of Process development, ensuring any non-compliances are identified.
  • Support with new technology risk mitigation activities/trials
  • Attend supplier/TATA gauging fixture/ setting fixture Design Reviews. Ensure standards have been applied, any concerns are raised and that any locator position changes are made
  • Planning commissioning and validation activities in launch phases from prototype build to J#1
QualificationsBE (Mechanical/Production /Automobile) or NTTF Diploma in Tool & Die making or Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile engineeringEssential skills
  • Have good working knowledge on GD&T BIW and General Assembly domains
  • Product Design Review & assessment
  • Should be ready to work in Sanand or Pune OR UK as per business and project requirements
