Job Description


The Master Data Management (MDM) Domain Lead will oversee the strategic direction and operational execution of master data management for specific domains / data products within the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and governance across systems and processes, while aligning with overall business objectives and compliance requirements. The MDM domain lead is a key member of the data management team acting as a liaison between the data team and stakeholders from global, regional, and enterprise technology stakeholders. They work closely with dentsus business and technology stakeholders to define data product features, business requirements, and functional design. They also drive data governance to ensure data products have high quality, availability, and accuracy.:Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the MDM strategy for the assigned domain/data product (e.g., Customer/ client, Supplier, Finance, company, etc.), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and data governance policies.
  • Data Governance: Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, including data quality standards, data stewardship, and data policies. Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders to enforce data governance practices.
  • Data Integration and Quality: Oversee the integration of master data across various systems and platforms. Implement processes to ensure high-quality data, including data validation, cleansing, and enrichment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for business units regarding master data management. Engage with stakeholders to understand their data needs and address data-related issues.
  • Data Modeling: Design and maintain data models for the assigned domain/data product, ensuring that they meet business requirements and support data integration and reporting needs.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure that master data management practices comply with relevant regulations, standards, and security protocols. Implement measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving master data management processes and systems. Lead initiatives to enhance data management efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and provide regular reports on master data quality, governance, and compliance. Use analytics to monitor and address data issues proactively.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of data professionals, providing guidance and support in executing MDM initiatives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and data excellence.
  • Lead discovery sessions with data stakeholders and subject matter experts for defining business requirements and functional design.
  • Perform analysis of new data for inclusion into a domain/data product and ad-hoc analysis of data to support the requirements process.
  • Take primary ownership for accurate requirements specifications and acceptance criteria for domain/data product changes, updates, and maintenance.
  • Take direction from project management regarding schedule, scope, and cost tradeoffs.
  • Assist with domain/data product testing utilizing business validation techniques.
  • Lead user acceptance testing.
  • Update and maintain documentation including Requirements, data flows, business glossary, data catalog, data lineage, data models, etc.
  • Serve as the Functional point of contact for the domain/data product, working through data and design questions/issues as they arise.
  • Maintain the domain/data product in production, working with end users, and facilitating change requests with the broader team using a defined change management process.
  • Work remotely with globally distributed colleagues and clients with the associated schedule flexibility required due to multiple time zones.
  • Contribute to the development of dentsus reusable assets, frameworks and best practices.
  • Mentor team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data management, with a focus on master data management. Proven experience in leading MDM initiatives and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of MDM concepts, data governance, data transformation, and data quality management.
  • Proficiency in MDM tools and technologies (e.g., Semarchy, Informatica, etc).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with data modeling and database design.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • 5+ years experience documenting requirements for the purposes of scope management, design, development and testing enablement through traceability
  • 5+ years experience working with various methodologies including Agile.
  • Experience with user acceptance testing.
  • SQL skills
  • Strong project management skills with experience in managing MDM projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong customer service orientation; consistently meet internal and external client commitments; demonstrated desire to exceed expectations.
  • Strong client management skills: manage through challenging situations resulting in positive outcomes for involved parties.
  • Effective communication skills: ability to simplify and structure complex concepts to streamline interactions and highlight key points.

  • Willingness to continuously update knowledge and skills in response to evolving technologies and practices.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary - up to 25%.
