We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist. In this role, you will:
Embedded into the delivery Scrum Teams/Pods and will be accountable for all release readiness activities to support their teams deliverables. They will be expected to establish potential areas of risk and vulnerability, providing guidance to the delivery scrum teams on how to manage and mitigate these issues early on in the delivery lifecycle.
Create release packages and be responsible for completing path to prod activities, including code scans to detect potential vulnerabilities and ensure these are not taken into production, along with subsequent monitoring of their changes post go live.
Responsible for implementing defined governance, policies and procedures that the Release Manager will define ensuring fdIT delivery teams follow a structured release strategy, aligned with the group change processes for Dev/Ops changes and deployments. Including creation of release notes, artifacts and ensuring team have appropriate test strategies to support these changes.
In addition, the release Engineer would be expected to utilise automation and new technologies to streamline the release process, pipelines and path to prod test activities to ensure we deliver at pace but maintain impeccable quality in all our releases to production.
In order to protect our customer experience there will be a requirement to support some out of hours work to ensure we release to prod at the most appropriate time to protect the live service.
Requirements To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Strong experience of working in an Agile & DevOps environment including expert knowledge of scrum management tools (e.g. Jira). Demonstrable technical leadership and teamwork skills
Risk management experience monitors, identifies, and develops action plans to remediate risks. Experience of operating in a large scale and highly regulated industry (e.g. financial services). Strong organisational skills and experience managing multiple streams at one time
Working with Scrum Masters to have full understanding of feature deliverables. Challenging and questioning scrum teams to surface potential risks and vulnerabilities. Govern releases and implementations to ensure align to release framework and standards. Keep up to date with changing processes and wider governance
Have a clear understanding of the processes and procedures, local and global, within the change process including legacy change processes and DevOps model. Work with the Service Management function to ensure that delivery meets both functional and non functional (ITSA) requirements
Work closely with the fdITIM team to ensure the support model and monitoring are reviewed as part of releases. Driving sustainable BAU processes for maintenance, support and future updates
Look for ways to continuously improve processes and procedures to align with Agile / LEAN ways of working. Input in to post implementation reviews, identifying learning points and working closely with the Service Improvement Manager
Work with Release Manager and Business Implementation Manager to ensure communications are timely and of the right level and quality. Track and follow up on accepted bugs, change requests required by ITSM to ensure that these are completed to resolution.
Be an approachable and supportive team member with a collaborative attitude within a demanding, maturing Agile environment. Be able to communicate effectively \xe2\x80\x93 spoken and written \xe2\x80\x93 to convey complex technical subject matter clearly, adapting to the audience
Be familiar with the following: CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Nexus. Application Monitoring - Splunk / App Dynamics. Agile Methodologies - Scrum, Kanban, Pair Programming, SAFe. Agile Tooling \xe2\x80\x93 Jira & Confluence.
