Role Profile
LSEG Post Trade Solutions division - Acadia is seeking a skilled Technical DevOps Manager - Linux system administrator (SA)
Should be responsible for the following -:
Lead and encourage the local four-person team across to become subject matter experts in service availability issues escalated from our Level 1 and 2 support desk. The team will operate across 2 shifts:
1st Shift (SF1) 17:30 - 02:00
2nd Shift (SF2) 02:00 - 10:00
Develop and set procedures for escalation and resolution of Level 3 technical issues. Work with cross functional teams to assist with root cause analysis and uptime optimization. Level 3 remediation and escalation of operational issues. Need to be subject matter experts in the underlying technologies. They may be required to provide detailed technical support for developers producing bug fixes & new releases of these applications. Must be self-motivating with the ability to prioritize workload.
Key Responsibilities
The role may include automated provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of software defined infrastructure.
This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing improvements in process and supporting the maximum available uptime. The best candidates are pro-active, self-led and are perceived as passionate about improving service for our clients.
The Acadia environment consists of Jira tracking, Cisco Nexus and Meraki networking. VMware vSphere. Windows desktop, Windows Server, and Ubuntu Server. We use both relational and document data stores (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB).
• Superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Extensive experience with AWS, vCenter and Docker.
• Use of Prometheus, DataDog, System Centre or other enterprise monitoring tools such as Splunk.
• Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures for Ansible and Terraform.
• Contribute to and maintain system standards.
• Operations and Support.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
• Perform regular file archival and purges as necessary.
• Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software or virtual infrastructure failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
• Systems Administration and Maintenance of a variety of custom systems.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
• Help define, document, evolve, and evangelize high engineering standards and best practices across multiple areas.
• Staff oversight.
• No budget responsibility.
Experience and Qualifications Required
• Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
• Technical experience as a Development Operations engineer as well as a Lead.
• Willing to adopt Hybrid working mode and work in Bangalore Office.
• Experience in Financial or an investment banking environment.
• Familiarity with financial products and financial terms.
• Excellent analytical skills, Attention to Detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to IT and business teams and to senior management.
• Strong negotiation / influencing skills able to overcome resistance and reach consensus and compromise to attain the required objective.
