• The Engineering Lead acts as an Agile and DevOps coach to the leadership team and delivery teams within Corporate Services IT (CSIT). They should have a strong background in Agile DevOps practices and principles, including Site Reliability Engineering, Scrum, Kanban, SAFE, Product Ownership, and the Value Stream construct. They will need to become a subject matter expert in bank\xe2\x80\x99s own Agile delivery model. They will need to know how to translate Agile DevOps principles into practices that can fit within the delivery constraints found in a global highly-regulated financial institution. They will need to be able to support advanced Agile DevOps practitioners, as well as teams that are at an earlier stage of adoption.
• The Engineering Lead is a \xe2\x80\x9cdoing\xe2\x80\x9d role. The Engineering Lead must be capable of configuring Jira and Confluence to support a wide variety of needs within CSIT. They will help teams implement tools such as App Dynamics, Splunk, Ansible, Rundeck, Jenkins, etc. They do not need to be experts in all of these tools but they need to have experience in environments that use these or similar tools, as well as an understanding of the use cases for such tools. The Engineering Lead should understand Cloud concepts, particularly the different needs of applications hosted in a virtual OS, an AWS Lambda or a Kubernetes container.
• The Engineering Lead acts as the DevOps and engineering interface between service line and its parent Department. The role requires public speaking.
• The role involves the use of a significant amount of data. The Engineering Lead will continually monitor and analyse the wide range of Agile and Engineering Excellence metrics that are used in HSBC\xe2\x80\x99s technology group. The Engineering Lead will need to become a subject matter expert in how each metric is calculated and what is the purpose behind the metric. They resolve any data discrepancies that may be present in Service line\xe2\x80\x99s Agile and Engineering Excellence metrics.
• The Engineering Lead helps the leadership team and the delivery teams interpret their Agile and Engineering Excellence metrics. They are capable of turning data into a story - the \xe2\x80\x9cso what?" of data.
• Assess current organizational practices and processes to identify opportunities for improvement as well as to provide direction toward those improvements.
• Establish milestones for necessary contributions from departments and develop processes to facilitate their collaboration.
• Understanding of business strategies, goals, and objectives. Mentor and train other developers and engineers throughout the department and seek to continually improve processes.
• Building relationships across the departments. Ability to create a shared vision and align stakeholders around the agile mindset and communicating the value proposition of agile to business stakeholders.
• Knowledge of software development life cycles and project management practices. Ability to coach teams on technical practices and engineering excellence.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Person should have 15+ years of experience in IT industry in managing various services/Programs.
• Understanding of monitoring and configuration.8+ years of strong practical experience with Application server / DB in a Production Environment.
• Completion Vision: Understand IT Development/Delivery/Support and Standards.
• Experience in Cloud and SAAS based products implementation.
• Automation experience. Automation skills: tasks, change implementation, environment health-checks/validation, configuration consistency checks. Broad Meeting Management Skills.
• IT Quality Management Metrics.
• Experience in any of the programming skills like PowerShell/ .NET (C#/VB/ASP)/JAVA/Python/Scripting languages is desirable.
• AI knowledge/experience is a plus: leveraging the tools to improve data analysis, problem resolution, improving time to market and develop innovative solutions. (Desirable)
• Should possess good verbal and written skills in English language. Certifications in scrum master, agile methodologies and kanban practices will be added advantage.
