Lead DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities:

Working in a close-knit technical team, the role will:

• Lead and guide the day-to-day work of the DevOps activities within the organization to support client projects and development.
• Design, implement and integrate NearTekPod Cloud Platform(AWS/GCP/Azure), core and shared services
• Consult and provide guidance and direction to colleagues on their tasks when they are blocked
• Be the architectural focal for the cloud infrastructure, possess proficient knowledge of various tools and tech used by build teams and automate all manual tasks
• Develop patterns for automated provisioning, management, scalability, and security
• Developing 'Idealized' automated CI/CD processes, and working with teams to implement those processes in DevOps technology stack
• Ensure that all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance standards and controls
• Be the major contributor to IaC modules: develop new modules, maintain existing modules
• Design and plan enterprise-scale cloud environments including application dependencies, data storage and flow, network connectivity and overall cloud hosting
• Design, implement and secure cloud IaaS, PaaS, and other services in AWS
• Develop and maintain up-to-date architectural templates, build an operational documentation of the technical environment
• Work with the Development, project/product management organizations to align projects, releases, patches, and other efforts

Required core skills:

• Candidates working for this position should possess at least 5+ years of work experience as a DevOps Engineer.
• Must possess ample knowledge and experience in system automation, deployment, and implementation.
• Should have experience in using Linux, Jenkins, and ample experience in configuring and automating the monitoring tools.
• The candidates should possess experience in the software development process and tools and languages like SaaS, Python, Java, MongoDB, Shell scripting, Python, MySQL, and Git.
• Experience with CI systems such as Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab
• Candidates should demonstrate knowledge in handling distributed data systems. Examples: Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Hadoop, and others.
• Should have strong Bash/PowerShell scripting capabilities, understanding of microservices architecture, service bus architecture and message queues.
• Strong IaC expertise with one of the following: CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform
• Strong devops expertise, proven track of designing and building CI/CD pipelines
• Good understanding of load balancers (e.g., NGINX), DNS (Domain Name System), (virtual) networks and firewalls in both datacenter and cloud environment
• Strong understanding and hands-on expertise in designing and running large scale cloud networking
• Deep and broad general IT knowledge as well as hands-on experience in different areas such as networking, infrastructure, security, solutions architecture and design, OS (Linux/Windows), common protocols and services, identity and access management, automation, troubleshooting, etc.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cloud provisioning and administration, cloud interoperability, cloud disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, as well as performance measurement and monitoring in the cloud on a large scale
• Excellent communication, organizational and collaborative skills

Bonus skills:

• Dev background is a huge plus
• Experience with setup and management of a software defined network, storage and compute and proven track record in system integration and design and setup of Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service deployment

Pay: ?10,984.22 - ?48,818.35 per month
