Job Summary


Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Edits new and existing applications. Implements, testing and debugging defined software components. Documents all development activity. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Core Responsibilities

• Work with Product Management and Engineering leadership to gather requirements.
• Understand operational tasks.
• Interface with other Beeswax engineering teams/components when necessary.
• Produce design documentation.
• Review designs and provide feedback in design reviews.
• Implement software solutions according to Beeswax and FreeWheel engineering standards.
• Implement automated unit and integration tests to confirm correctness and prevent regressions.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Implement appropriate instrumentation and monitoring.
• Provide user-friendly documentation.
• Ensure delivered software solutions are always up and available.
• Implement bug fixes when necessary.
• Upgrade components, libraries, infrastructure, etc. as necessaryParticipate in a rotating on-call schedule to support other team members across Beeswax.

Employees at all levels are expected to:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or similar.
• 2-4 years industry experience.
• Programming Skills: React, Python, SQL.
• Experience building web services using a framework like Django.
• Experience with MySQL or similar RDBMS.
• Comfortable working in Linux.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with a public cloud computing environment (especially AWS)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment.
• An ethic of service and a belief in putting the customer first.
