Functional title : Team Lead Developer WorkplaceBand : DLocation : Bangalore/Hyderabad :About the role:As the Developer Workplace Experience Team Lead, you will be responsible for delivering a seamless, secure, and high-performance developer environment that enables Swiss Re's 2,000+ developers to work efficiently. You will lead a cross-functional team focused on developer endpoint engineering, self-service enablement, automation, and security, ensuring that developers have a consistent and frictionless workspace.Swiss Re has established teams managing key aspects of the developer ecosystem, including the DevSecOps platform team, which owns CI/CD platforms, pipelines, and build/test automation, and the Endpoints squad, which manages core endpoint infrastructure, device lifecycle, and enterprise workstation management. The Developer Workplace Experience squad will work closely with these existing teams, ensuring that developers can fully leverage these capabilities within an optimized, developer-centric working environment. This role will act as the bridge between engineering, security, and endpoint management, aligning efforts to enhance developer productivity, streamline access to tools, and drive automation across Swiss Re's development ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and execute the Developer Workplace Experience strategy, ensuring alignment with Swiss Re's technology vision and developer needs.
  • Work closely with the DevSecOps platform and Endpoints teams, ensuring seamless integration of developer tools, security, and workstation configurations.
  • Act as the key advocate for developers, ensuring that workplace decisions prioritize efficiency, automation, and security.
Developer Environment & Productivity
  • Oversee developer endpoint engineering, ensuring performance, security, and seamless access to development tools.
  • Drive standardization and automation of developer environments across global teams.
  • Improve self-service access to tools, software, and development resources.
Security & Compliance
  • Ensure secure-by-default configurations for developer workstations and environments while maintaining flexibility.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps and IT Security to integrate developer-friendly security practices into the workplace experience.
  • Support identity, access management, and secure development best practices.
Global Developer Enablement & Support
  • Implement a global strategy for providing developers with a stable and high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure developer support models are optimized to address issues efficiently, including automation and self-service solutions.
  • Continuously gather developer feedback to improve services and drive strategic improvements.
Continuous Improvement & Business Alignment
  • Define and track key developer experience metrics, using insights to drive enhancements.
  • Align the Developer Workplace strategy with broader IT, security, and cloud transformation goals.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices, ensuring Swiss Re remains competitive in developer experience.

The squad's mission is to remove friction in development environments, simplify access to tools, and enhance security without slowing down innovation.About you:Overall 12+ years of experience working in IT industry working in various roles.Leadership & Vision
  • Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams (5+ years) in developer productivity, endpoint engineering, or IT automation.
  • Proven ability to drive project delivery, ensuring that complex engineering initiatives are executed on time and to the highest quality standards.
  • Ability to translate developer pain points into strategic solutions, advocating for automation, self-service, and efficiency.
  • Experience working in global technology organizations, understanding the needs of a distributed developer workforce.
Technical Expertise
  • Knowledge of developer environments, workstations, cloud-based development environments, and secure workspace management.
  • Robust development background-or have demonstrated experience as a developer advocate-ensuring that your technical leadership is both hands-on and deeply aligned with the needs of modern development teams.
  • Strong understanding of automation, self-service tooling, and access control for developers.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security best practices and compliance requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
  • Strong advocate for developer autonomy and self-service models.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to bridge the gap between developers, security, and IT operations.
  • Passion for improving developer workflows and reducing friction in engineering environments.
