Job Title: Desktop SRE

Location: Pune

Role Description

The Desktop SRE team provides the 2nd/3rd line support for the following production services: Incident, Problem, and Outage management, and Monitoring Operations for the Desktop OS, Remote Desktop, and Desktop Services platforms. The team is responsible for the end-to-end product ownership, service design, support for client and server issues, investigating service related Incidents for full RCA and remediation of VID infra related issues.

The Desktop SRE Subject Matter Expert (SME) will work as part of the Desktop Service Operations team providing 3rd line operational support for the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Desktop & VDI Products and related applications and systems as well as supporting technologies including Ctirix, VMware, Nutanics, XenApp/XenDesktop technologies.

Your Key Responsibilities

An experienced Desktop SRE will Manage and run production environments that deliver the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Desktop & VDI products at the L3 layer, possessing strong administrative/operational experience in VDI infra along with automation

The SME will be responsible for:
  • Knowledge of supporting large organizations in globally diverse locations
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting and administrating enterprise level Windows devices and configuration and management systems
  • Working experience in developing scripts in PowerShell, Python and Ansible (Playbooks)
  • Working experience in follow-the-sun level 2 and level 3 support teams model
  • Support Level 2/3 experience in Windows desktop operating systems
  • The troubleshooting and resolution of issues with the NextGen VDI infrastructure, supporting services and dependencies
  • Performing security administration tasks, such as certificate renewals, on a periodic basis in line with agreed service levels
  • Performing disaster recovery testing on a periodic basis in line with agreed service levels
  • Patching, maintenance and remediation on the Windows Desktop environment and supporting services
  • Providing efficient, effective and timely support to compliance and legal on surveillance activities and data discovery requests and investigations
  • Ensuring production installations of the platforms and additional components are compliant with the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s information security standards
  • Providing support of release of changes into the production environment for managing and improving the operational run books and supporting documentation
Your Skills & Experience

Technical skills - essential:

Demonstrable experience in upgrading, installing, configuring and supporting some or all of the technologies employed within Deutsche Bank\xe2\x80\x99s nextGen VDI and Cloud strategy, including:
  • NextGen Platform on HCI (Hyperconverged Infrastructure)
  • Citrix
  • VMware
  • Nutanics
  • Windows Operating Systems
Demonstrable experience in playing leading role in a global level 3 or similar team and working within an ITIL/Agile or similar process.

Demonstratable experience administrating a Windows Operating system environment

Strong career interest with a focus on professional improvement focused on NextGen VDI and Hyperconverged Infrastructure.

Comfortable working in a team with a diverse skill set, location and culture across different countries.

Must be adaptable and quickly understand the new technologies / emerging markets.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, understand and present clear solutions to problems.

Proven track record in problem solving, within a medium to large enterprise environment.

The candidate will operate within a team for supporting the Global On-Call rota, facilitate weekend changes, and remote support where required.

Technical Skills - beneficial:
  • Knowledge of Cloud, Hybrid VDI infra, networking protocols and associated services
  • DevOps, Ansible, PowerShell and Python Scripting
  • Hands on experience on tools I.e. Jira, SCRUM, KANBAN, Confluence, BitBucket, Git
  • Understanding of monitoring systems (Citrix DD, Systrack, Splunk, Geneos etc)
  • Knowledge in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File and Print servers
  • Diverse technical background with experience on multiple technologies including VMware, Citirx, VDI, SCCM, MS Intune, zScalar
  • Windows Server and Client OS administration
  • MS SQL and other database Administration
  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft products and technologies and their integration with respective services
General skills:
  • Enterprise level experience.
  • Building on a very strong technical knowledge in the aforementioned areas, the candidate must have strong support/troubleshooting skills, operate on their own accord, and work together in a global team with a strong worth ethic and communication skills.
  • Preferable Banking experience.
Education & qualifications:
  • Educated to Bachelor\'s degree level in Computer Science, or a related discipline, from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience and certifications
  • Preferably hold Microsoft and cloud certifications in relevant technologies
  • Consider MS certifications MCSA, MS Azure, GCP, Networking related certifications
Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years experience as an Associate/Engineer specializing in Windows, Automation and Virtual infrastructure in an Enterprise environment. Financial services sector experience beneficial.
