As one of the world's leading engineering consultancies, we offer unparalleled opportunities for talented individuals in search of a rewarding career.To meet the increasing demand of our expertise in engineering, we have now an opportunity for a Plant 3D designers with experience ranging from 6 - 10 years to join the Nuclear and Power team at our Atkins India offices. We are particularly interested in individuals with reasonable consultancy/contracting experience in Plant 3D design in the delivery of first-class solutions which combines innovation, imagination, and best practices.

Mechanical/Electrical/Control & Instrumentation - Pant 3D designer

The Individual:

Responsibilities:

• Proficient in Autodesk Plant3D software
• Executes Mechanical and Piping designs. Electrical and C&I Designs.
• Consult with the client, supervisors and other technical specialists as required to ensure models are 'right first time'.
• Interpret P&ID/Schematics/Line Drawings/ Cable Tray Layouts to produce Plant 3D models/Isometric/Fabrication drawings as required.
• Ability to assess and survey site conditions when required.
• Uses computer aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
• Reviews drawings and documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards.
• Prepares/supports Equipment general arrangements, piping general arrangements, Line Lists, Material Take-Offs (MTO).
• Prepares demolition layouts/schematics, tie-in requirements and translates into drawings.
• Familiar with all piping systems involved in Process, Pharmaceutical, Water and Petrochemical plants. Develops design concepts and prepares documents during various stages of the design. Corrects and updates design documents. Develops solutions to design problems.
• Initiates squad inter-discipline squad checks and squad checks with client (when necessary) prior to issue of drawings at various stages of projects.
• Works with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion. Interacts with clients regularly to secure scope and design intent.
• Ensures acceptable levels of quality and checks the coordination of work to assure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination.
• Coordinates design work with related engineering disciplines. Attends job and construction meetings, site walks, liaise with M&E contractors and participates in the coordination of the M&E work with other disciplines.
• Routinely archives and retrieves data from electronic database for support of work.
• Supports field installation and start-up activities.
• Provides limited contribution to performance reviews for assigned staff.
• Is an analytical thinker, ethical and trustworthy, flexible and able to solve problems while working with a team. Able to motivate others and maintain good business relationships.
• Strong CAD and IT skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Capability as Administrator for Plant 3D design software will be an added advantage.

Requirements:

• Diploma or HNC in Mechanical/Electrical/Control & Instrumentation engineering (or relevant subject)
• Chemical or Nuclear or Onshore Oil and Gas related Piping design experience
• Thorough awareness of international codes and standards used for Mechanical and/or Piping design in the industry.
• A determination to continually improve safety in all aspects of plant design and operation.
• Extensive experience with prefabricated, packaged plant design.
• Proficient in the use of Plant 3D, Navis manage, AutoCAD, Excel, and Word
• Experience of 3D modelling using Plant 3D
• Experience in the preparation and co-ordination of Mechanical and/or Piping design deliverables
• Compliance with industry, international and client Codes and Standards
• Maintain suitable records of correspondence and work completed for reference and auditing purposes.
• Fluent in both spoken and written English language.
• Knowledge of site-based project work involving field engineering and construction
• Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
• Experience of preparing Isometric extraction from Plant 3D
• Experience of preparing the Spec Creation
• Experience of preparing Smart P&ID and PFD
