Develop comprehensive project estimates, including materials, labour, and overhead costs, based on project specifications and requirements.
Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis for various stages of projects, from initial concept to final execution.
Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to review and validate project budgets and estimates.
Provide strategic guidance on cost-saving measures and value engineering options without compromising quality.
Prepare and present detailed reports and analysis on project costs, variances, and profitability.
Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methods to optimize project cost estimation practices.
Manage and mentor a team of estimators and quantity surveyors, ensuring high standards of performance and professional development.
Implement and maintain standardized procedures and tools for estimation and quantity surveying across the organization.
Job Expectations:Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master\'s degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction cost estimation and quantity surveying, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects and delivering accurate cost estimates within budget constraints.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations.
Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, RSMeans).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Certification as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or similar designation is desirable.
