Position Overview:

We seek a dynamic and experienced Design Manager to lead our design engineering team in developing innovative, high-quality design solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design engineering, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing successful projects. In this role, you will oversee the entire design process, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure that all projects meet performance, quality, and cost objectives. Responsibilities :

• Team Leadership and Management : Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled solar design engineers. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting continuous learning and professional growth. Conduct regular weekly meetings with the team to align them with targets, review progress, and provide guidance.
• Pre-Sales Support : Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise and design support during the pre-sales phase. Deliver timebound, accurate and compelling design proposals that meet client requirements and facilitate sales closures.
• Engineering Drawings : Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering drawings and specifications for the execution of residential, commercial, and industrial solar projects. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Technology and Component Innovation : Identify and evaluate new technologies, components, and design methodologies that can reduce costs, enhance system functionality, and increase value for customers. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements.
• Quality Assurance : Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of design accuracy and reliability. Conduct regular reviews and audits of design outputs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with other departments, including sales, project management, procurement, and installation teams, to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
• External Vendor Collaboration : Actively engage with and build a network of design consultants and component vendors with a view to offer high quality and cost-effective solutions to the client.
• Training and Development : Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the design teams knowledge of solar products, industry trends, and government policies. Ensure continuous professional growth and skill development.

Requirements:

• Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar design and engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role. Proven track record of managing successful solar design projects across residential, commercial, and industrial segments.
• Education : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of solar PV systems, including design principles, components, and installation processes. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, Solar labs and other relevant tools.
• Leadership Skills : Strong leadership and team management abilities. Experience in building and leading high-performing design teams.
• Innovative Mindset : Ability to identify and implement innovative design solutions and technologies that enhance system performance, safety and cost-efficiency.
• Communication Skills : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to present complex technical information clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
