Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team in the sheet metal or heavy fabrication industry. The successful candidate will have a strong background in designing and developing sheet metal or heavy fabrication components, products, and systems. The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and modifying designs to meet customer requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and develop sheet metal or heavy fabrication components, products, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor)

- Create and modify 2D and 3D models, detailed drawings, and specifications

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and sales to ensure designs meet customer requirements and industry standards

- Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

- Troubleshoot design-related issues and provide solutions

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field

- 2-3 years of experience in sheet metal or heavy fabrication design

- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor)

- Strong understanding of sheet metal or heavy fabrication processes and materials

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Nice to Have:

- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)

- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASME, AWS)

- Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma certification
