Together, we enable our customers to produce the materials needed for a better future.DepartmentWe have an exciting opportunity available for a Design Engineer to join the global Sampling Preparation and Analysis Engineering Team.RoleYou will play an important role in the design and innovation of SPAs current and future equipment. Based in Chennai, this role will include working with your specialist colleagues around the world to design state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, sampling systems, or automated laboratories and help our customers in the Mining industry optimize their process of ore beneficiation.Your responsibilitiesThis position requires working with internal and external clients for projects globally. This means that the following responsibilities would require domestic and international travel and the ability to be autonomous while in remote operations.Detail design for projects and productsAssist proposal team with review of customer specifications, suggestion of existing and new technical solutionsWork with our partners, vendors and manufacturersSupports the development of design standards, guides, and design control proceduresAnalyze complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or proceduresCompletes Engineering design and drawings including 3D and 2D modellingPerforms mechanical calculations and simulationsPromotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the companys operational activitiesDesign and implementation of modifications for productsUnderstand and comply with Health Safety and Environment Policy requirementsWhat you bringBachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred, but other streams are acceptable for candidates with significant design experience using 2D and 3D design tools)Fluent in English verbally as well as written. A knowledge of a second language is favourable.
