Additional information is available at .JOB DESCRIPTIONPOSITION TITLE: Design Engineer Level-2SUMMARY:Responsible for resolving design related issues that occur through active participation in satisfying internal and external customer expectations. Responsible for design and modifications to existing products, implementation of new products, change orders, and monitoring of customer field service problems. Responsible for team leadership and accountable for team results.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Establish design requirements through continuous examination of customer expectations.
  • Develop new products to competitively meet current and future customer requirements.
  • Facilitate resolution of production and field service problems as identified on all unit products. Coordinate information feedback to the appropriate departments.
  • Develop and participate in new product deployment teams. Bring new products from design to market in a minimal time frame at the optimal cost.
  • Design, implement and maintain records of product and component testing.
  • Implement product improvement activities to review designs, customer needs and manufacturing costs on all unit products. Measure cost savings and customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis to determine each product\'s success.
  • Develop and participate in continuous improvement teams.
  • Participate as an active member in the research and development of new designs for associated products.
  • Coordinate, track and prioritize business unit change orders and change requests.

Leverage leadership, planning, innovation, analysis, testing, and design rigor to accomplish results.50%Participate in team reviews of design concepts, design details, material selections, product commercialization, problem solving, and product improvement.20%Coordinate efforts of technical teams.10%REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Skills and abilities consistent with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4-8 years\' experience in a customer-oriented product design and manufacturing company.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Able to work independently or as a team member.
  • Proficient in machine design and commercial implementation.
  • Understanding of metal fabrication techniques, strength of materials, and high-volume manufacturing design requirements.
  • Mechanical design analysis.
  • Proficiency will all standard office computer and software systems.
  • High degree of engineering judgment.
  • Show leadership in product design and implementation.
  • Project scheduling and timely completion of tasks.
  • Effective leadership of design teams.
  • Results driven.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Proficiency in Creo Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software
  • Proficiency in Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Software.
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Project management using the waterfall method.
  • Project management using the Agile method.
