This position involves working within the Special Projects Team at XS CAD's Global Delivery Centre in Andheri, Mumbai. The team consists of skilled professionals, including architects, engineers and designers with varied experience. The selected SolidWorks Design Drafter, with FEA and CFD expertise, will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, 3D models and performing advanced simulations using SolidWorks. This role is crucial in ensuring the precision, performance and quality of our product designs.





Key Roles and Responsibilities:





This job specifically involves the following key roles and responsibilities:





• Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, blueprints and schematics based on engineering specifications and design requirements
• Develop and modify 3D models of parts, assemblies and complete products using SolidWorks
• Ensure that models adhere to design standards and specifications
• Perform FEA on components and assemblies to evaluate stress, strain and other performance characteristics
• Interpret analysis results and provide design recommendations to improve structural integrity and performance
• Conduct CFD simulations to analyse fluid flow, heat transfer and other related phenomena
• Utilise CFD results to optimise design for better fluid dynamics performance
• Update and revise existing designs to meet new specifications or improve functionality
• Implement changes based on FEA and CFD analysis results
• Work closely with engineers, designers and production teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of design projects
• Participate in design review meetings to discuss and resolve design issues
• Maintain organised records of designs, revisions and related documentation
• Create and update bills of materials (BOM) and other related documents
• Conduct thorough quality checks on designs, models and simulation results to ensure they meet company standards and industry regulations
• Verify that all drawings and models are accurate and free of errors
• Assist in the development and testing of prototypes
• Ensure that designs can be feasibly manufactured and assembled
• Maintain proficiency with SolidWorks and stay updated on new features and improvements
• Manage SolidWorks files and ensure they are stored correctly
• Provide technical support and guidance to production teams during the manufacturing process
Assist in troubleshooting design-related issues that arise during production

Qualification and Experience Required:



• BE/BTech in mechanical engineering or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a design/drafting role using SolidWorks with significant experience in FEA and CFD
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation and familiarity with other CAD and analysis software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings, models and simulations
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve design issues, particularly those identified through FEA and CFD
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
