This role is responsible for transitioning new projects into manufacturing. Providing program management and manufacturing planning to convert customer quotations, proposals, and requirements into manufacturing capability.
This position has responsibility for all phases of product development from Customer Quotation through shipment of first production build. Is responsible for supporting various manufacturing-engineering functions within the manufacturing function, including process design and manufacturing process.
Shall have experience in drawing evaluation, manufacturing process feasibility study, calculate should manufacturing hours and ensure parts are manufactured within should hours
Review customer request for quotes against current manufacturing capability. Ensure manufacturing capability and capacity exists to meet customer requirements based on information provided at time of quote request.
Ensure customer requirements are understood and communicated to all stake holders within manufacturing get concurrence before submitting quote.
Shall have hands on experience in driving new programs through APQP & PPAP.
Liaison with key global plants / stake holders to facilitate transition of new programs and parts.
Use and implementation of lean and digital tools to drive predictable outcomes with analytics
Prepare project timelines and identify all resources requirement and work with planning and operations team to align and execute new parts manufacturing.
Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Graduate mechanical engineer or equivalent degree with minimum of 6 to 12 years of experience in aviation tubes and duct manufacturing industry with AS9100, NadCap systems.
Shall have a good knowledge, hands on experience with fabrication (Forming, Joining, NDT, Machining, Heat Treat, Chemical Processing) for aerospace.
Posses a demonstrated capability of leading the NPI developments, APQP/PPAP per AS9145 / AS13001-4 implementation, FAIR per AS9102, for similar industry.
Good hands on knowledge with ERP Oracle - Manufacturing Module
Good hands on knowledge with CAD tools - AutoCAD, Unigraphics, CATIA, TeamCenter
Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
PG in Engineering Management or PMP / PgMP certifications (desired).
