The University is seeking an experienced and visionary Deputy Director of Sports to lead and manage all aspects of the University's sports programs. The Deputy Director of Sports will be responsible for overseeing sports activities, developing strategic plans to enhance the athletic programs, fostering student-athlete development, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a culture of excellence and sportsmanship.

Essential
Qualification
• Master's degree in physical education and sports or sports science with first class/equivalent grade in CGPA.
• Record of having represented the University/State/National Championship.
• Qualified in the national level test in sports.
• Excellent spoken and written communication
Experience
• Minimum 12 -15 years of relevant experience, of which minimum 3-5 years should be in a leadership (Head of Sports) role.
• Prior team handling experience is a must. Provide strong leadership to coaches, trainers, and staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
• Experience in guiding group of students in creative activities.
• Record of strong involvement and proven track record of participation in sports.
Job Responsibilities
• Strategic planning to develop long-term and short-term plans for the growth and improvement of sports programs.
• Foster a positive relationship with the students, staff, community and other stakeholders.
• Program development to design, implement, and manage sports programs and activities.
• Quality Control to ensure high standards of performance, training, and sportsmanship across all programs.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
• Develop and manage the sports department budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
• Professional development by facilitating training and development opportunities for coaches and staff .
• Regulatory Compliance to ensure all programs comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Implement and monitor safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure the well-being of participants.
• Act as a spokesperson for the sports department, advocating for support and participation.
• Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and inventory of sports equipment.
• Passion for sports and deep understanding and enthusiasm for sports, physical education, and athlete development.

GENERAL INFORMATION / DETAILS ABOUT POST
• This position will report to the Dean of Students of Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence.
• The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from a recognized University / Institution.
• Relaxation in age up to 5 years and/or experience may be considered for exceptionally meritorious candidates, with prior approval of the Competent Authority.
• The prescribed essential qualification and experience indicated are bare minimum and mere possession of same will not entitle the candidates to be called for the selection process. Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible for the University to call all eligible candidates for the selection process. The University may restrict the number of candidates to be called for the selection process to a reasonable limit, based on qualification/s and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. The candidates should, therefore, furnish full details of qualifications and experience possessed in the relevant fields, over and above the minimum prescribed. Documentary evidence will be Verified during the selection process.
• The waitlist shall be kept valid for a period of six months. In case a candidate does not join or resigns after joining the post within 6 months, waitlisted candidate/s may be offered the position.
