Job Description


Role and Responsibilities : To provide electric services to all production Dept, Power House Dept and township by ensuring 100% availability of all the essential equipment installed, while maintaining the safety and cost aspects. To carry out required predictive, preventive and breakdown maintenance and fault finding of all Electrical equipments independently. Responsible for Operation and Maintenance of LT & HT Electrical Equipment such as Breakers, HT/LT power cables, cable treys, distribution circuit, Transformers, HT/LT Motors, AC & DC Variable Speed Drives, DG, Turbine Generators, ESPs and other auxiliary panels. Rewinding of motors, transformers and electromagnetic Is conversant with the working principles and torque-versus-speed characteristics of AC,DC motors Is able to use basic test equipment such as voltmeter, Tachometer, clamp-on ammeter, ammeter, Ohmmeter, Megohmmeter etc. Is conversant with the correct method of mounting and dismantling of bearings of motors using proper tools, use of different grades of greases and lubricant oils, Motor Control Circuit Can guide during testing, start-up and commissioning of an electrical installation and rectify any abnormality. PLC/DCS based control system and can coordinate with instrumentation. A Providing and maintaining communication facilities like telephone to entire plant and township. To maintain electrical equipment in healthy condition for transmission and distribution network to ensure availability in township, salt works. Detailing planning and execution of various projects in chemical division as per long term asset management planning. To prepare annual revenue budget for the entire electric dept in consultation with all Area Engineers and Manager Electrical. To prepare action plan and identity needs for maintaining safety and having zero harm. Collecting information about new technology, better products and procedures. Improvement of job quality, Minimization of breakdown, Carrying out Root cause analysis. Can identify means of reducing downtime of maintenance, maintenance performance indicators Familiar with proactive maintenance techniques like vibration, current signature analysis, thermography etc To plan and work out implementation and checks for ISO, 14001,18001, TBEM. Stoppage planning of electrical equipments for maintenance as per electrical equipment as per PM schedule. Inter dept Communication and co-ordinations for maintenance and other activities. To work within and lead the team of engineers, electricians, and contractor personals to carry out required job safely and effectively. To work as shift in-charge and handle the Electrical activities in shift independently. To comply to the legal requirements with respect to plant operation and applicable to work in Electrical system. To actively engage and support all current and future improvement initiatives Is conversant with safety and health fundamentals related to electrical items and system, take safety precautions during isolation of electrical items, Is conversant with the usage of all PPE, of firefighting systems Preferred Skills : Operating SAP for QM & Notification. Proficient in the use of computers for maintaining data / records. Ability to plan and visualise task ahead of its actual performance ( Planning and Decision ) and to master the complexity of details involved Requires co-ordination of multiple jobs at a time.
