About the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
The role of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is to advance the interests of Australia and Australians internationally. This involves strengthening Australia\xe2\x80\x99s security, enhancing Australia\xe2\x80\x99s prosperity, delivering an effective and high-quality overseas aid program and helping Australian travellers and Australians overseas.
The department provides foreign, trade and development policy advice to the Australian Government. DFAT also works with other Australian government agencies to drive coordination of Australia\xe2\x80\x99s pursuit of global, regional and bilateral interests.
About the Position
The position is a leadership role in support of the Manager - Finance in the New Delhi processing hub, which is responsible for providing a wide range of financial resources programs and client service functions to a large and diverse client base of spoke locations across India and the region. Under the general direction of the Manager - Finance, the Assistant Manager is responsible for management of financial resources across the region, ensuring compliance with Australian and departmental financial management regulations, as well as local and mission-specific guidelines in four countries and across six currencies.

Employment conditions
Subject to the successful completion of six months probationary period, satisfactory medical check and background verification, the successful applicant will be initially offered a two-year contract with the possibility of extension. The successful applicant will be expected to commence duty within one month of being advised of the selection for the position.
