Job Description
• Diagnosing and treating dental issues : Dentists examine teeth, gums, and surrounding tissue to diagnose dental conditions like decay, injury, and disease. They use X-rays and other tools to diagnose problems.
• Performing dental treatments : Dentists perform a variety of dental treatments, including fillings, extractions, root canals, and fitting dentures and bridges. They also apply whitening agents and sealants to teeth.
• Educating patients : Dentists teach patients about oral hygiene, flossing, fluoride, and other aspects of dental care.
• Prescribing medications : Dentists may prescribe antibiotics or other medications as needed.
• Managing patients' records : Dentists maintain patients' dental records.
• Referring patients : Dentists may refer patients to dental hygienists, dental therapists, or other specialists as needed.
• Supervising staff : Dentists may supervise dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other staff.
