This includes the development and execution of strategies for academic excellence, fostering innovative teaching and learning methodologies, enhancing research output, and ensuring the effective administration of academic programs. The Dean will play a crucial role in shaping the academic vision of the university, promoting active learning techniques, and ensuring alignment with global educational standards.Key Responsible: * Academic Leadership & Strategy:

  • Provide visionary leadership in academic planning, development, and implementation of the university's teaching, learning, and research strategies.
  • Oversee the academic curriculum and ensure its relevance to industry standards, with a focus on global competitiveness and interdisciplinary learning.
  • Guide faculty members in maintaining high academic standards and continuous professional development in pedagogical advancements.
  • Lead the design and implementation of academic programs that emphasize research-based learning, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
  • Teaching & Learning Pedagogy:
  • Drive the adoption of contemporary teaching methodologies, with a focus on active learning, experiential learning, and student-centered education.
  • Promote the use of digital tools and platforms to enhance learning experiences and ensure accessibility to diverse student populations.
  • Develop and encourage the use of case studies, simulations, problem-based learning, collaborative projects, and other active learning techniques.
  • Establish mechanisms to assess and enhance the quality of teaching and student engagement.
  • Research & Innovation:
  • Champion a culture of research excellence and innovation across academic departments, encouraging interdisciplinary and collaborative research initiatives.
  • Foster partnerships with industry, government, and other academic institutions to drive impactful research projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase research funding and opportunities for faculty and students.
  • Oversee the publication of research output in high-impact journals and promote the dissemination of knowledge through conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Academic Administration:
  • Supervise the administration of academic affairs, including program management, student progression, and faculty performance.
  • Lead accreditation processes and ensure compliance with national and international academic standards.
  • Work closely with department heads to review and evaluate academic programs, ensuring alignment with university goals and student needs.
  • Manage academic scheduling, faculty assignments, and resource allocation to optimize the effectiveness of the academic programs.
  • Faculty Development & Support:
  • Lead faculty mentoring, and professional development initiatives to foster a culture of teaching excellence and innovation.
  • Provide on-going support for faculty members in enhancing their research and teaching capabilities through workshops, seminars, and training.
  • Encourage faculty involvement in academic governance, decision-making, and the development of academic policies.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with the Vice Chancellor, senior leadership team, and academic staff to implement the university's strategic vision.
  • Engage with external stakeholders including industry partners, regulatory bodies, and academic peers to enhance the university's academic reputation.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive environment within the university community, encouraging interdisciplinary initiatives and partnerships.
Key Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in an appropriate academic field from a recognized institution.
  • At least 10 years of experience in academic leadership, with a strong record in teaching, research, and administration.
  • Proven expertise in the application of active learning techniques, student-centered teaching, and innovative pedagogies.
  • Strong administrative capabilities, including budget management, faculty management, and strategic planning.
  • A track record of successful research initiatives and academic publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with accreditation processes and maintaining compliance with academic standards.
Desirable Skills:
  • Expertise in the use of digital learning tools and technologies.
  • Experience in designing and leading faculty development programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex academic issues.
