DCS engineer directly responsible to lead greenfield & retrofit projects for Water Solutions group
Lead and coordinate design, implementation and testing of Water projects
Conduct / support in-person / remote Kick-off Meetings (KOMs), Design Review Meeting (DRMs) and Factory Acceptance Test (FATs), Start-Ups and field service activities at water sites in USA
Primary Duties and Accountabilities:
Site walk down for data collections
Design and implementation of controls & graphic for water projects
Process simulation and testing
KOMs, DRMs, pre-FATs, FATs & clean-up after FATs
Verification and functional testing of I/O interfaces to field devices
Site commissioning, start-up & field service activities
Identifying and communicating areas of potential process and design improvements to project manager
Compliance with internal and customer safety and security requirements
Working with contractors / sub-contractors
Fostering smooth collaboration and communication with project stake holders (internal project teams, customer project teams and onsite contractors)
Required Skills:
B. Tech / B.E (ECE, EEE, I&C, E&I) is essential
Minimum 5 years of experience working on DCS projects, candidates with 4-5 years of Emerson (Ovation) experience will be preferred
Skills in Water & Wastewater projects Control Design, tuning, process sequencing, and protection philosophies will be added advantage
Troubleshooting, set priorities, problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills
Excellent language and communication skills, both verbal and written required
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and project documentations
Ability to effectively present information and respond to queries from groups of managers, clients and customers
Ability to interface with vendors & sub-contractors
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
Proficiency with ISA and SAMA logic symbols, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics
Added advantage will be proficiency with one or more DCS platforms (e.g. Emerson Ovation, ABB Pro Control / Bailey INFI 90, Siemens T3000 / TXP, GE Mark VI, Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation, Invensys, Honeywell TDC3000, maxDNA, metsoDNA, Alstom Alspa320 etc.).
