Job Title: Demi Chef de Partie (DCDP)
Job Summary:
The Demi Chef de Partie assists the Chef de Partie (CDP) in managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. This role involves cooking, food preparation, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook food to the highest standards under the guidance of the Chef de Partie (CDP).
• Assist in the development of new recipes and menus.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, if necessary.
• Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in kitchen meetings and contribute to menu planning.
• Handle food presentation and plating in accordance with restaurant standards.
Qualifications:
• Culinary diploma or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably as a Commis Chef or similar role.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for food.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
• Fast-paced kitchen environment.
• May require long hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Standing for extended periods.
