Job Description

• Administer, optimize, and maintain MSSQL databases for optimal performance and data integrity.
• Install, configure, maintain, patch and upgrade MSSQL servers
• Strong hands-on knowledge in performing in place and side by side database migration within cloud and on-prem to cloud platform
• Responsible for Capacity planning, Security Management, Backup and Recovery planning and implementation.
• Must understand writing and executing stored procedures, DMVs and DMFs
• Database Encryption and TDE
• Must have strong knowledge of Always on high availability features on all versions starting 2012
• In-depth understanding of Windows/OS clustering and it's partnering features like storage/disk IOPS and Throughputs (latency related to disk IO)
• Implement and follow ITIL best practices in database management and fine understanding of ServiceNow tool
• Respond to and resolve database-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted services.
• Conducting regular database performance assessments and data backups.
• Stay current with emerging database technologies and industry best practices.
• Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams on database-related matters.
• Automate day to day SQL administration tasks and health checks.
• Prepare daily, Weekly and Monthly maintenance report
• Knowledge of Monitoring tool and synthetics will be an added advantage (like Datadog/SolarWinds)
• Write efficient and optimized code to build tools and applications that facilitate database management and orchestration

Skillset requirement

SQL Server Database,


• PowerShell/Ansible/Terraform/Python/Go Lang Scripting ,
• Understanding of cloud computing like AWS and Azure, architectural understanding of frontend (application)and backend (database) integration
• AWS Certified Data Engineer or Azure Database Administrator Certification preferred

Good to have: RDS for SQL and Postgres, CI/CD pipelines, tools like Jenkins/Harness, Ansible/Python.





Education & Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Administration and Maintenance of DBaaS
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
