1. Provide stable service by designing server system architecture for each service and operating 24x7 infrastructure/server instances/application. 2. Operate system efficiently and systematically through continuous architecture improvement, system/service operation automation and process application. 3. Raise service quality by developing and operating database service that saves and analyzes structured/unstructured data. What will you bring to us You have completed BE/B.Tech/M.Sc/M.S degree in computer science / information technology or allied sciences like Mathematics, Physics or Operations Research. You have eight (8) to ten years (10) of work experience of which four years should be in managing relational and NoSQL databases. You are conversant with managing one of the relational databases like MySQL, Aurora, PostgreSQL and good amount of exposure to non-relational technologies like MongoDB, Cassandra, Couchbase on Unix / Linux platform with following standard operations: Bootstrapping and putting DB instances into operation Keeping databases up to date with latest patches Helping users with schema design and optimization Managing database access Testing and modifying databases to ensure that they operate reliably Defining maintenance procedures Managing database integrity and backup procedures Writing disaster recovery plans and testing them Implementing security measures Liaising and partnering with stake holders Writing use case specific user guides and operating manuals Providing user training, support and feedback Desirable Exposure to Amazon Relational Database Service Horizontal scaling techniques with multiple DB shards High availability configurations Performance tuning You also possess experience and exposure to the following Skills / Attributes RDBMS, NoSQL, Document DB, Columnar DB, Schema Design, Document Design, Administration, Implementation, High Availability, Recoverability, Cost and capacity planning, MySQL, Couchbase, Postgres, Redshift, ScylaDB, Cassandra SQL, Stored Functions, Shell Scripting, Perl/Python Trouble shooting, Scale, Capacity Planning, Performance tuning, Design and Implementation. You also must have experience in AWS and its provisioned databases and design methods for cloud native database. Should have exposure to new age databases and database technologies.
