Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) and Customer Support Engineer with 5-6 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing databases, while also providing high-level customer and technical support. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in database management and strong customer-facing skills to resolve technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Database Administration:
• Manage and maintain SQL/SOL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Perform database backups, restores, data archiving, and data purging.
• Develop and implement database maintenance plans, including indexing, performance tuning, and database optimization.
• Conduct testing of stored procedures, scheduling jobs, and implementing them in production environments.
• Support database migration and upgrades, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Provide support for database security and disaster recovery plans.
• Technical Customer Support:
• Provide technical support to customers, addressing issues related to applications and databases.
• Handle troubleshooting of web-based and standalone applications, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Diagnose and resolve database-related problems, coordinating with internal teams and external customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist customers with technical queries, including API testing and integration.
• Act as a liaison between the customer and the technical team, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of issues.
• Handle escalations related to complex database or application issues.
• Application Support:
• Provide ongoing application support for various software systems, including Traffic Management Systems (TMS), Automated Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), and other infrastructure-related applications.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot application issues, and ensure smooth functioning of critical systems.
• Collaborate with software development teams to resolve issues and optimize performance.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for databases, troubleshooting protocols, and customer support processes.
• Provide regular reports on database health, system performance, and customer support activities to management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5-6 years of experience in Database Administration and Technical/Customer Support roles.
• Proficiency in SQL/SOL database management, including data archiving, purging, and performance optimization.
• Experience in creating, testing, and scheduling stored procedures (SPs), and implementing jobs.
• Hands-on experience with database migration and upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of troubleshooting application and database issues in a production environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with technical teams and customers.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize issues based on severity.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with Traffic Management Systems (TMS), Automated Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), or similar infrastructure-related applications.
• Experience with API testing and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of database security, disaster recovery, and backup/restore processes.
• Basic understanding of networking and Windows server environments.
