Senior Database Engineer:
We're looking for Senior Database Engineers with AWS expertise and who enjoy challenging problems.
Our stack includes .NET, MSSQL, Postgres and Python deployed on Amazon Web Services.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Sr. Database Engineer, you will:
• Be a team player: Collaborate with other software engineers as the MSSQL SME to design, build, and optimize our real-time, multi-tenant DB based product
• Develop and Deliver:
• Design and build real-time analytics and aggregations and compatible tech can offer for data pipelines
• Scale and optimize performance via schema design, query tuning, and index creation
• Build highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure leveraging both MSMSQL/Postgres and AWS (RDS and SQL on EC2)
• Leverage continuous build and deployment tools and practices
• Perform monitoring, backup, and automation
• Investigate and triage complex technical issues with databases, storage, and networks in production environments
• Ensure accurate documentation exists for all services and solutions
• Build and maintain a deep working knowledge of all technical and business initiatives
• Ensure established SLAs are met or exceeded, with supporting reports or dashboards
• Be innovative: Implement solutions in response to new or existing business objectives and timelines
• Be an Agile Person: With a strong sense of urgency and a desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you will deliver solutions against strict timelines
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior Database Engineer if you have:
• A Bachelor's Degree or Master`s in Computer Science discipline, and at least 1 AWS Certification is a must.
• 5+ years of experience as a Database engineer and 2+ years on the AWS Cloud platform
• Experience in Database Administration, Configuration, Installation, Upgrading, Architecture Design, and Troubleshooting of SQL Server 2016
• Maintained many Production databases in Terabytes under critical industry domains.
• SQL Server Migration and Upgradation
• Design and Implement High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions - Log shipping, Mirroring, Replication, and Always On.
• Optimize existing code and designed indexes to improve Application Performance.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and release deployment activities.
• Perform database logical and physical design, maintenance, tuning, archiving, backups, replication, recovery, software upgrades, capacity planning, and optimization for SQL Server database
• Maintain database Standard and Security as defined at the Enterprise level. Expert understanding of role, profile, grants, and privileges, providing and setting up DB access at a different level for different groups of users.
• Experience in investigating and remediating complex SQL Server performance issues across the entire SQL Server product stack: relational DB objects (stored procedures, functions, indexes) and SSRS reports.
• Meet recovery objectives RPO, RTO, and SLA's regarding the databases for SQL Server Disaster Recovery
• Conducting root cause analysis for critical issues with problem fixes. Provided SME support and recommendations for other clients.
• Good to have exposure to automation using SQL job or scripting for SQL Server DB Monitoring and Migration.
• Documented Knowledge base articles and User Manual Operations guide for database team
