Who We Are Looking For:
AGCO is looking to hire candidates for the position of Data Scientist.
The Data Scientist role is responsible for developing statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to carry out descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics use cases at AGCO. This role utilizes analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets. This information is then used to develop data-driven solutions to difficult business challenges which will enable industry leading, smart farming solutions. The Data Scientist participates in the adoption and advancement of analytics maturity within AGCO through the collaboration with stakeholders, delivery of insights and explanation of analysis.
What You Will Do:
Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive improved business solutions and generate business value.
Determine appropriate analytics technique for addressing classes of business problems. Assesses feasibility of analytics use cases in POC studies.
Write programs in languages such as Python, R, SAS and SQL etc. to analyze large datasets and implement algorithms and statistical models that generate insights for descriptive, diagnostic and predictive analytics use cases.
Coordinate with different functional teams including cloud and data engineers to deploy, implement and scale models as well as monitor outcomes including model performance and data accuracy.
Maps analytical insights into actionable recommendations.
Communicate to a diverse audience across the organization the results of analytical modeling and insights generated to drive adoption of analytics in daily work. Use data visualizations and storytelling to explain analytics insights in a way that is relevant to business stakeholders.
Act as a change agent, engaging with business stakeholders and others in the data science community at AGCO to continue to educate, increase awareness, and build support for world class data and analytics.
Stay up to date on leading data science and analytic practices, trends, design, learning and development cycles.
Works under supervision of Senior or Principal Data Scientist. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher level staff. Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
Key Performance Indicators
Strong academic qualifications, including advanced understanding/coursework in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Technology, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
Technical proficiency in languages such as Python, R, SAS etc.
Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau.
Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop & Spark.
Demonstrated ability to perform exploratory data analysis and statistical modeling techniques. Experience with machine learning and AI.
Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way.
Ability to visualize data in the way most effective to gain greater adoption or insight generation.
