We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented software engineers who has experience in building innovative, mission critical systems that would help in our pursuit to deliver that mission.

We\'re seeking an Data Scientist with a deep expertise in matching and ranking systems. Your responsibilities will include everything from developing and prototyping innovative retrieval systems with NLP and Transformer, query planning, deep learning to operating and optimizing a scalable distributed inference solutions in a production environment. We are looking for innovators who can contribute to advancing search & Recommendation technology using Generative AI/LLM services on what\'s scientifically possible while remaining committed to creating world-class products.

Key job responsibilities
- Demonstrate thorough technical knowledge on feature engineering of massive datasets, effective exploratory data analysis, and model building using industry standard AI/ML models and working with Large Language Models
- Proficiency in both Supervised(Linear/Logistic Regression) and UnSupervised algorithms(k means clustering)
- Understand the business reality behind large sets of data and develop meaningful solutions comprising of analytics as well as marketing management.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders like the business teams, engineering teams and partner teams and align them with respect to your focus area
- Innovate by adapting new modeling techniques and procedures
- Passionate about working with huge data sets ( training/fine tuning) and be someone who loves to bring datasets together to answer business questions. You should have deep expertise in creation and management of datasets
- Exposure at implementing and operating stable, scalable data flow solutions from production systems into end-user facing applications/reports. These solutions will be fault tolerant, self-healing and adaptive.
- Work with distributed machine learning and statistical algorithms to harness enormous volumes of data at scale to serve our customers

Appstore team enables the customer and developer flywheel on devices by enabling developers to seamlessly launch and manage their apps/ in-app content on Amazon. It helps customers discover, buy and engage with these apps on Fire TV, Fire Tablets and mobile devices. The technologies we build on vary from device software, to high scale services, to efficient tools for developers.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of data scientist experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company
