Role Purpose:
  • Lead business specific master data and transaction data management activities and support process governance, and maintenance for the division
  • Improve the quality and manage the protection of sensitive data and information assets.
  • Standardize master data management practices at the department, functional, and business levels to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet business and regulatory requirements and to support functional strategies.
  • Coordinate cross functional master data management initiatives and interdependencies within the business
  • Coordinate and align with Corporate/Enterprise data management strategies and initiatives. Key
Responsibilities:
  • Data management (master and transaction) and performance: quality and timeliness
  • Support establishment of, and governance activities for, Corning International sites data management and liase with other divisions for data activities required during ERP transformation in Corning International sites.
  • Work with business users at Corning International sites to make data ready (cleansed and deduplicated) for SAP migration.
  • Work with corporate data teams and change management teams to develop and enable better decision-making, reduced operational friction, and repeatable processes from helping the organization value and utilize information
  • Provide KPIs/ metrics to measure and improve data
  • Liaison between business/functional areas and IT to ensure that data related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated, well understood, and are considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
  • Develop and implement data quality standards and remediation adoption requirements
  • Provide progress reports on master data programs and projects
  • Coordinate data sources to eliminate redundancy
\xe2\x80\xa2 Identify new opportunities pertaining to the use of information to achieve efficiency and effectiveness \xe2\x80\xa2 Enable improved business outcomes by applying data integrity, visibility, and accuracy
  • Exercise decision authority in the business for data design and usage
  • Serve as data champion for organization-wide acceptance (with support and enablement from senior leadership)
  • Drive the identification, harmonization, and standardization of data for use in systems and processes o Represent the business in decision-making for business data - ensure business rules and relevancy considerations are included in the migration work for projects

  • Promote business practices to be inclusive of data for projects, operations, and strategies Performance Metrics:

Experience/Education:
  • Graduate (Business degree preferred, MBA)
  • 5+ years of experience in a services or manufacturing organization, with large-scale data management experience
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of information assets and approaches related to data protection.
  • Worked in data migration from Peoplesoft to SAP S/4 HANA (desirable)
