Reporting into the Governance and Technology Senior Leader, the Data Governance Officer will be involved in all aspects of a Data Governance lifecycle within HR Operations.They will be part of a team of go-to data governance domain experts and will be encouraged to drive a standard process DG culture that results in industry leading efficiencies, accountability, and stakeholder trust in our data management.This is an excellent opportunity in this new capability, where the role will have the opportunity to directly shape the overarching framework foundations.Key Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for a best practice data governance framework embedding as a core value-add function
• Adoption and assurance of various internal and external compliance standards including Sarbanes Oxley, GDPR etc
• Play an active part in all aspects of the Data Governance framework design, development, delivery, maintenance and assurance
• Providing professional data governance advice and support to HR Operations as a proactive and approachable authority.
• Maintaining, refining and obtaining assurance of implementation of data governance policies, standards, procedures and related documentation.
• Hands-on compliance assurance, through metrics and measurement, on policy and standards implementation, particularly in the areas of data quality, data lineage and traceability, and organization of data through central metadata management.
• Actively involved in activity to implement and maintain an enterprise-grade data governance technology solution to harmonize and streamline data discovery/profiling, data quality monitoring, data enrichment strategies, data lineage, metadata management, and data integration.
• Liaise across various stakeholders and peer groups for consistency and ensure maximum value add embedded initiatives and priorities

TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE:

• An experienced data governance professional with recent hands-on data governance specific experience
• Practical domain expertise in the areas of data quality, metadata management, data cataloging and data lineage methodologies, niche software and standards
• Proficiency in working with enterprise-grade business management and collaboration tooling and methodologies
• Champion / Challenge the status quo with strong data literacy and compliance guardrails
• Innovative and inquisitive with a completer / finisher mindset
