Analyze and design data mapping of legacy Data Warehouse along with its Processes and Systems, Assessing the Business Data Models and its integrations.
Research, gather and synthesize information on current state, identify requirements, and define the future state data model.
Data Analyst should understand source system(s) configurations and how the current data pipelines are build.
Translate the analysis findings into actionable recommendations by reviewing the findings with cross functional teams.
Ensure business rules and data transformations are correctly applied.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize existing mappings and spreadsheets to understand the legacy data warehouse structure.
Identify and apply business rules to data fields, ensuring consistency across multiple policy sources.
Work with data in the data warehouse and map it to the new data warehouse structure.
Collaborate with data warehouse engineers to understand and translate SAS code into business rules.
Skills and Experience:
Strong analytical skills to understand and map data fields and business rules.
Experience with SAS code and Very strong SQL knowledge is required for data analysis and mapping.
Knowledge of data modelling, particularly Kimball dimensional modelling, is beneficial but not mandatory.
Ability to work with technical teams to decipher and document business rules from legacy systems.
Additional Notes:
The BA will work with existing documentation and mappings, updating and validating them as needed.
Collaboration with data engineers and other technical staff is essential for success in this role.
Experience with Data Warehousing and ETL process.
Proficient in SAS software with ability to debug SAS Code.
