About Pratham Books

Pratham Books is a not-for-profit children\'s book publisher that was set up in 2004 to publish good quality and affordable books in many Indian languages. Our mission is to see a book in every child\'s hand and we have spread the joy of reading to millions of children in India. As a publisher serving every child in India, Pratham Books has always pushed the boundaries when it comes to exploring innovative ways in which to create access to joyful stories and have been fortunate in finding partners to collaborate with who share this vision.

In 2015, we were one of the first publishers in the country to open license our content. All this content is now available on Storyweaver, which is a digital platform that hosts stories in languages from India and beyond so that every child can have an endless stream of stories in her mother tongue to read. The stories can be read, translated, versioned, or downloaded for free. All stories on the platform are openly licensed.

About the internship

Selected intern\'s day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Gather and analyze data to improve our reporting and drive decision-making
2. Work closely with the team in implementing and maintaining analytics tracking that will provide insights into how users interact with features on StoryWeaver
3. Work on transforming raw data sources into usable data models and help build reporting views for use by the wider team
4. Set up website tags using GTM, explore automation possibilities in the tracking and maintenance of tags
5. Understand the data engineering pipeline and help build new data sources into the warehouse
6. Transform data into aggregated, user-friendly views

Requirements:

1. Graduate in quant degree or completed 3rd year of CS degree
2. Strong SQL/ Python programming skills
3. Should know Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, GitHub, Python, Airflow, SQL, Google Sheets, Slides
4. Familiar with data analytics tools like Tableau, R, Looker, or Metabase
5. Ability to research and debug coding problems on their own
6. Exposure to front-end web development is a plus
7. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
8. Able to work under pressure/deadlines
