The Data Analyst III is responsible for leading and conducting data analysis to gain insights in product and customer intelligence using healthcare transactional and customer interaction data. This role also serves as mentor to colleagues by sharing knowledge and skillsets that are pertinent to a successful analytics team. The individual will lead the conversion of customer requests into technical requirements, conduct hands-on analysis, and ensure deliverable commitments are met. Availity will be migrating to cloud services this year, and we are looking for someone with an eye for optimizing current analytic approaches, while sharing your findings for knowledge share.



This position will lead projects to enable process improvement, new product adoption, and other enhancements. Works directly with internal clients to research and identify operational business requirements with sufficient detail and clarity to allow the development of the data or reporting solution needed. Develops, maintains, and ensures quality control of data systems and may assist in development and implementation of measurement systems.

We are seeking an experienced.

What you will be doing:• Monitoring emails for requests and inquiries from Health Plan customers, tracking progress in JIRA.
• Facilitating recurring customer calls to provide training and updates for open items.
• Assisting with building reports and providing innovative solutions to complex requests.
• Collaborating with cross functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Assisting with projects and enhancements as assigned to contribute to Availity's overall business goals. Projects could include ad hoc reporting, searches and reviews, program evaluation, quality initiatives, analysis, development, etc.
• Following protocols for how to handle, process, and clean data.
• Documenting and triaging of data problems that were identified and corrected.
• Supporting the workload and priorities of the team when needed.


To be qualified for this position, you:• Have a bachelor's degree or the equivalent in work experience.
• Are experienced with scripting and data manipulation languages such as SQL.
• Have 3-5 years of experience and proficiency in automating reporting and building visualizations with some administrative exposure in tools such as IBM Cognos, Pyramid, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Excel or other related BI tools.
• Work in relational databases; design, structure, data associations, and query language.
• Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrections to data issues reported by customers or exceptions reports.
• Possess strong relationship management and collaboration skills.
• Communicate clearly through written and verbal skills.
• Work with a minimal amount of direction while being pro-active in keeping your leadership informed of project related issues.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships while using discretion and making sound decisions.
• Thrive working under pressure, maintaining composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment; must be able to multi-task.
• Are flexible and embrace change.
• Know Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Problem solving, having excellent organizational, and priority management skills.


You will set yourself apart:• With previous experience in a Business Analyst or Data Analyst role.
• Having basic knowledge of the health care/payer/insurance industry.
• If you have experience with Cognos or any other reporting tools.
• Showcasing advanced knowledge in Excel skills
• With experience using Tableau, PowerBI, or QuickSight.
