Job Description


Objectives of the programme

The overall goal of the department is to support and collaborate with the Member States for further development and implementation of national policies and strategies which ensure equitable and universal access to quality health care to accelerate reductions in maternal, newborn and child mortality, address gender and equity differential with rights based approach, ending violence against women, girls and children, prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, improve sexual and reproductive health including elimination of cervical cancer and focus on family planning; strengthen midwifery and nursing health workforce, promote adolescent health and wellbeing, school health, health promotion and address social determinants of health across life course, healthy settings and promoting healthy ageing.

Description of duties

Under the guidance of Director, Programme Management (DPM) and the direct supervision of Director, UHC/Family Health (FGL), the incumbent will carry out the following duties: * Manage maternal, newborn, child, adolescent health, social determinants of health, health promotion, etc. through collection, collation, and support for data management in SEAR countries. To undertake subset analysis for gender and equity data from all Member States and provides technical support to improve data management in countries. To support RA-PRS in training on learning \xe2\x80\x98Passport App\' to track, train and tap training in SEAR countries and update database periodically.

  • Manage data and information: collate and manage data and information received from network institutions on maternal, newborn care, birth defects and still births Receive and update surveillance data, compile, validate and assist in preparation of relevant information and reports of database. Managing users and adding new users and new network hospitals in the database. Creating data entry operator\'s logins and provide them access to enter the forms in online database. Assist in preparation of charts, graphs, presentations and other graphics of database surveillance and programme monitoring data. Liaise with ICT unit to update new electronic forms according to the requirements.
  • Support Technical Units in collation of data from global policy surveys on SRMNCAH and on Healthy Ageing. Assist in analysis and report generation for regional /country use. Support organization of virtual training, webinars, App based training packages etc. Coordinate administrative preparation for meetings, seminars, workshops, ensuring all necessary documents and travel requests are sent to participants; prepare relevant documents and power-point presentation.
  • Listserv: Maintain Listserv for user subscriptions. Create and distribute the html version of the monthly and quarterly newsletters to registered members. Update and maintain user accounts for the existing users and add new users. Manage user registration process for Listserv including approval of valid users and confirmation of access.
  • Coordinating data disseminating activities and building information networks and data-centric partnerships, maintain shared drive for FGL surveillance unit with logical and easy access to all surveillance unit databases and information, designing and maintaining transparent, standard, and user-friendly information management procedures for the FGL department and updating and maintenance of FGL related pages on SEARO website.
  • Perform any other related duties, as required.
Required qualifications

Education

Essential: Completion of Secondary School Education supplemented by advanced computer training.
Desirable:
  • Advanced knowledge of IT skills and Photoshop editing and audio/visual media file editing.
  • University degree is an asset.
Experience

Essential: At least eight years of relevant working experience in the area of data management and designing in UN or a large organization.

Desirable: Experience in WHO or in another UN/International organization would be an advantage.

Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of modern office procedures and practices. The incumbent keeps abreast of changes in procedures and practices, rules and regulations, organizational structure, in the department, and WHO.

Remuneration

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at INR 1,234,734 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
