Job Title : Dairy Farm Worker

Reports to : Dairy Farm Manager

Job Summary :

The dairy farm worker is responsible for performing various tasks associated with the care and milking of dairy cows, maintaining hygiene in the dairy facilities, and ensuring the well-being of the herd. This position involves hands-on work with livestock, operating milking machines, feeding cattle, and monitoring animal health.

Key Responsibilities :

• Milking Operations :
• Milking the cows efficiently and hygienically.
• Prepare cows for milking, including cleaning udders
• Ensure milking cans are clean, and well-maintained.
• Follow milking schedules and protocols to ensure milk quality and safety standards are met.
• Animal Care and Feeding :
• Feed and water dairy cows according to feeding schedules and nutritional guidelines.
• Monitor the herd's health, noting any signs of illness or injury, and report concerns to the farm manager.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments as directed.
• Assist in the calving process, including care for newborn calves and their mothers.
• Cleaning and Maintenance :
• Clean and sanitize milking parlors, barns, and other facilities daily to maintain hygiene.
• Maintain feeding, bedding, and watering systems for the cows.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of farm infrastructure, such as barns, milking equipment, and fences.
• Health and Record-Keeping :
• Monitor cow health and behavior, identifying potential issues such as mastitis, lameness, or infections.
• Record data on milk production, animal health, feeding, and treatments.
• Keep detailed logs of vaccinations, calving, and veterinary visits.

Qualifications :

• Experience : Prior experience working with dairy cows is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.
• Skills : Ability to operate milking machines and other dairy-related equipment. Basic knowledge of animal health and nutrition.
• Attention to Detail : Ability to follow strict hygiene protocols and care for livestock with precision.
• Teamwork : Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Salary :

• Ranging from 14000 to 16000

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?14,000.00 - ?16,000.00 per month
