DAG is seeking a knowledgeable and personable Art Advisor to join their team. The Art Advisor will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through the art buying process, providing expert advice on art selection, and fostering long-term relationships with collectors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the art market, excellent communication skills, and a passion for connecting people with art.About DAG:was established in 1993 and is now the world's largest and best-known commercial gallery selling and curating exhibitions of Indian and South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art. DAG showcases the breadth and quality of 20th Century art from this region, covering all the main styles and themes of artistic endeavor in painting, sculpture, drawings, watercolors and lithographs. DAG participates in national and international art fairs including Art Dubai, Art Basel Hong Kong, Art Stage Singapore, Masterpiece London and the India Art Fair, New Delhi. DAGs presence at these venues has brought growing attention and multiple awards for its innovative pavilion designs and curated presentations of select works of art.Please note:1. The vetting process for this role comprises 2-3 rounds of interviews and may be followed by a brief assignment.2. The Art X Company is hiring for this role on behalf of DAG.3. Salary band for this role is available upon request.RequirementsEssential Qualifications & Experience:Bachelors degree in liberal arts such as Fine Arts or Art History5-8 years experience in an art gallery or related sales roleMust have a strong understanding of Indian modern artExcellent communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills with an ability to work well with clientsFluency in English essential, other languages an advantageBe flexible with working hours if/when requiredKey Personal Attributes & Skills:Creative individual with drive and the ability to take initiativeValues of adaptability and sincerity are criticalGood time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressureGood writing skills and an understanding of how to approach diverse stakeholders simultaneouslyStrong attention to detail and good observation skillsAbility to work effectively, both independently and as part of a teamAbility to produce clear, coherent creative briefs and project reportsAbility to organize a daily workload by prioritiesA proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skillsEngaged and interested in continually learning about artists and the art world and being able to use that in conversation with artists, clients, patrons, and key stakeholders.
